    Hsv numbering

Hi all. This is probably a stupid question but how are HSV's numbered? Holden build year from memory was Jan to Oct. My Clubby is a factory 2010 build E3LS3 number 0240 ordered & built Nov2010 and actually picked up in Jan 2011. Would this mean that 239 2010 HSV's were built in 2010 as E3LS3's?? Or just 239 clubby's or are HSV's numbered according to build type and independant of year? Sorta confused?

If you have a Clubsport then your car is numbered within the Clubsport build numbers. Maloo, Senator and GTS can have numbers that align with yours (ie. #240 GTS, #240 Clubsport, #240 Maloo).
Your car number would be within the E3 sequence not the year.
From memory the only HSV cars I can think of right now that didnt share numbers were 5th Anniversarys.
    #01-10 Statesman 5000i
    #11-40 Senator 500i
    #41-55 Senator
    #56-60 Sport Wagon
    #61-125 Club Sport
    #126-150 Maloo
There is a very good chance your car isnt the 240th Clubsport built.
To add confusion the HSV GTO LE series was sequenced in reverse. #01 was last.

Not sure of Holden's build year but i had a one with December plate and January HSV tag.

Thanks for that, you are a wealth of knowledge. Does that mean that HSV's are actually built and numbered independent of year but according to cl*** and type but in most cases will fall within factory build year but not always. Theoretically, HSV could build a dated model special vehicle if given a dated, as new donor car and number it as example VE GTO HSV 0001 2019 build?? Its just a thought as I reckon there would be a market.

Build number comes from Holden. The date the tag is issued from HSV is when the work is completed by HSV.
Depending on options that could push that date out beyond a higher number. There are other factors involved in sequence as well.
Some models reset between series and some didnt. An example is the VS 1 and 2, They didnt reset to 001.

Tickford did the same random numbers. My GT is 68 but is the 86th built

Aha, things falling into place.. My EDI screen opens with build number and all that and also says sv enhanced which would probably account for original buyer's optional extras as well as my confusion regarding the numbering. Would this be the likely scenerio? Car was ordered in Nov 2010 with extras. Taken from Holden in Nov 2010 as LS3 E3, (Holden's 2011 model)Given the HSV treatment and build number in Jan or maybe even Feb 2011 (can confirm with paperwork ). Which would account for the relatively low number. I do apologise for appearing to make a big deal out of a few numbers but it's always good to know how the baby was born.

My car is very similar to yours except build No 230 and GTS SV. Late 2010 car but not registered until early 2011. Some cars were purchased with pre chosen build numbers

Very impressive presentation and equally impressive vehicle. I'm relieved to hear there are others with absolutely no real uniformity to their numbers either
