VZ to VE LS2 Engine Cover Swap

I've always wondered, just for a point of difference, is a VZ LS2 engine cover a straight swap for a VE LS2?
They pop up for sale sometimes for money that's almost worth the try... or at least the option.

I'd ***ume the same clip points underneath (on the rails), but are the two grommet locations the same?
And I guess this would also be the same with LS3 covers?

VE covers go straight onto VZ LS2. They have stronger 'C' clips but no grommets

    Cheers.
Next time an E1 cover pops up for the right money I might give it a crack on the Z.

I'd be staying with the VZ cover, as I think it looks better than the VE LS2 or LS3 covers.

I do agree. Purely for the point of difference and the fact they come up often enough for $80 (pocket change in the world of cars).
I like the idea of preserving the Z one too.
