    Suspension Advice on MRC replacement

Hi guys and girls, first post in the forum
Looking for some advice on replacement for the MRC in my VE GTS.
What have people put in before and the pros and cons, not keen on Coil Overs as it doesn’t get driven much any advice on Munroe, Pedders, Bilstein ... ect
    Thanks in advance.

    My first post in reply.

I have replaced the MRC in my VE GTS. I had the tuner disable the MRC or car would detect a fault and put car in safe mode. I went for King Springs and Bilsteins. Munroes are standard Holden fare. The front Bilsteins are inserts - your suspension guy will have to do some cutting and welding of some old Holden Munroes. I went superlow on the front but they were too high, close to Holden Standard height. Super Super lows look fine. Super lows on the rear has the back lower than standard GTS but looks good to me and works fine. Bilstein B8s is the model that suits. You can get them as kit already in a tube from one of the suppliers too. Oh, don't use the standard rubber strut tops - they will chop out quickly. Did on mine - twice before I got the right advice. Using a soft nulene style strut top now hmm superpro something? can't quite recall the exact name. The ride will be very firm so you might not like it on a long run or bumpy road. The handling is great imo. Hope this helps.

If just wanting low, why change from MRC? Are yours leaking? Tried Gumtree or Facebook for spares?

    Seen the Walkinshaw/Eibach options?

    Thanks guys
Mine are cooked and have leaked on both rears and one of the fronts
Its got Walkinshaw Springs fitted and I wanted to keep these as I like the height and ride.
I’ll look into the B8”s and see if these springs can be used on these shocks.

From memory MRC shocks can be rebuilt. Not sure on cost though. Out of interest how many km has your car done GTSWP?
