Advice on stroker or supercharge or turbo setup please ls3?

Hello, i briefly asked on my ve gts thread but thought a dedicated thread would get a better response

    My budget is around $12-15k
Motor currently has higgens race heads and i think 222/223 cam from hpf

I have rang 3 shops and to be honest their interest in helping talk this through was minimal

I have driven turbo charged cars and stroked briefly but not supercharged
I do have a bias to enjoying the sound of a stroker
I understand the strokers dont make a heap of power but torque makes it fun out of the corners
    Goal is 500fwkw or more

What would u recommend and can head or cam be reused??
Ideally would like to drive one of each but dont really know anyone with such setups

I imagine the tt setup the budget would not permit? Thanks

As you mentioned a turbo setup is much more costly, it is capable of the most power but that level of power comes with trade off's eg you need to build boost.

Supercharged cars are a hell of a lot of fun on the street because the PD blown cars such as LSA and Magnuson Heartbeat etc make instant boost pressure, meaning you make instant HP/TQ they pull like a freight train from any RPM, they get you out of the hole faster and do not require the car to "build boost".

For the street or drag racing the PD blower is perfectly suited this is also why OEM's use them, they are low in cost and can make a tonne of power.

There is always a better cam, as camshafts suit the airflow needs of the engine.
So there is 2 answers to your questions.

    1. You can leave the cam alone it will be fine and make decent power
    2. A camshaft designed more towards a blown application will make more power, but this depends how far you want to go

If you're only wanting 500fwkw, a turbo or twins on low boost will be fine and is no different to bolting on a supercharger and running 9PSI. You don't need to build a bottom end to handle that sort of power, plenty of people have done it without an issue. It's not a huge amount of power for a standard bottom end to handle

Think my Maggie 2300 was about $13,000 with a new clutch. You could probably get a LSA blower or Heartbeat for around that if not cheaper. Harrop and Walkinshaw come with a warranty thatís not far off useless and put the price up a fair bit. Where are you located?

You can pick up an entire LSA blower for about $3000-$4000
You can also buy ported LSA blowers from Jokerz Performance in the US they ship to here, ported units are about $3k also.
