    1st HSV.

    Hi all.

Well it's taken a while but I've finally got one.

    15th anniversary R8.

Won't be doing much driving as I brought it unregistered and haven't got the room for it ATM.

We get on when I can for some storage tips.

    Cheers.

    Hi welcome to the forum
If your asking for storage tips?
In part with nowhere to store or lock it up, you may not own it for long!
Apart from removing a few fuses for security, the fuel tank should be plastic so leave the tank almost
empty as you need to drain the fuel, google info on fuel life. Start the car and get the engine up to running temp
every couple of weeks. Remove the battery and look after that separately.
Their are a couple of good threads in this forum and others on car storage depending on how good the car is and how long you are
going to store it. long term you should save the tyres and suspension by placing the car on blocks. Depending on
where your car will be stored plug the exhaust/any holes, including the intake, just don't forget to unblock/have a check list
prior to restarting. What is a 15th anniversary R8 a VX? cheers andrew

Storage will be long term 1-2 years. My folks have the room so I'll park it up there. I'll put it up on stands and start it every week, could even get the old man to kick it over more frequently if needed. Will driving it on stands help or to best to give a run around the block every month or so?

Yes 15th anniversary is a vx.

Its not good to start and idle the car without actually driving in it. I wouldnt do it weekly, perhaps monthly.

Did an oil change yesterday and took it for a 20 km drive. Planning on doing that every month, the driving that is.

Also noticed that there seems to be some undercarriage missing. It's the bit inbetween the front bumper and the plastic piece that's next to the metal cover. Bit hard to explain, will post a pic next weekend.

Wheels and suspension will be up for sale in the next week or two.

Oh. Brought a new battery as I couldn't even unlock the door, tried jump starting with my 4x4 with no luck. I'm disconnecting it when not using it.

Perhaps look in to a good trickle charger like a CTEK to keep the battery healthy when you're not using it

No power where it parked up unless I run a extension lead from the garage.

Happy enough doing the battery thing.
