I would use any oil they recommend in the manual (the specs and approvals are listed)

Every engine ive ever wrecked has never been from an oil type or interval

for the gearbox, go the Penrite Pro_gear stuff (mine is running it and I ran it in all my Tremec equipped cars from VX)
much better than any version of auto trans fluid

Yeh it's got me worried now, i've always used Nulon in all my modified cars BAXR8, VY Clubsport, FG XR6T. Happy to pay extra for the Mobil 1 if im going to have issues. This car has cams and all bolt on mods but only mildly tuned to 295rwkw. Last thing i want is the engine to start making funky sounds.

    +1.

My vortech install + heads/cam/exhaust was all done by Sams Performance up here in Sydney and they have always recommended Nulon 10-40w semi synthetic.

Come to think of it, my latest tune was done by APS in Victoria and they said to stick with the Nulon as well.

I believe either oils would be fine for your motor and application

I'm another that uses 5w-30 fully synth. Great oil. I also run penrite in my diff and gearbox.

awesome, thanks guys. I ended up getting the Dex iii for the T56, if it's crap i will change to Penrite. Got the Penrite for the diff though.

I'll go to Costco tomorrow and grab some Nulon 5w30, as i said my car doesn't get driven hard at all but it does have very short trips to my work which is only 5km away, when i arrive it is nowhere near operating temp.

talk to guys in the auto repair trade here .. no-one will touch it

I have tried it only twice thank god... VY Clubbie and again with the VE II SSV (coz I had been told it had changed)
5W-30 Nulon is crap... both times it lasted 1/2 hr (LOUD sewing machine + rattly rocker noises)while I drove down to the local Repco and got 6 litres of something else (anything else.) and drove home and replaced it I have spoken to guys in the car club, to racers, to guys involved in the auto repair trade and the answer is always... nup don't waste ya $

I wish only one company made oil, so many conflicting opinions for every single one.
