Not necessarily mate. I don't think it would be really any different from our current Caprice sold to the US. GM just subsidises the whole affair. How cheap would a stripped out 4 DOOR Cadillac sedan be with a few goodies in it, even call it a BT-1 if they must.
IMHO I think it would be the best sedan AUS Police agencies could get their hands on post 2017.

"Somewhere" being Harrop since it's a HTV...?
They'll need it though, sounds pretty lack lustre in standard guise

At this stage that'd be my thoughts too,...it's a pretty complex "electronic" type engine,...I reckon that if a blower did go on, ya'd have to do a heap of other stuff too.

Update ... GM have knocked back this initiative due to the driveline capabilities - it's a bit merky for me but it appears that there are 2 types of Auto trans used in the car - an 8spd for some markets and a 9spd for Australia and US and the 9spd was the reason they couldn't get it through durability .... so I guess it will surface in the aftermarket somewhere!

Well here we are 3 weeks away from 2018 and things are starting to fall into place ... firstly, I'm pleased that HSV is still here and the HSV brand is still around ... albeit in a very watered down form - the Colorado project is interesting to say the least but the final result for that will be its success - and that will be based around pricing!! .... if Holden bring in "core" vehicles from Thailand with stuff like plain bumpers and steel wheels that will help the program - if the Colorado is built in Thailand with the seats and steering wheel that are HSV specific that could also help keep the pricing sensible ... I guess we will need to wait for that to play out
The Camaro project is a good thing short term providing HSV keep the pricing under control but the development costs would have been high so we will just have to wait on that .....
As for the Silverado .... I think is a tad old in the market at the moment and the next gen version would be a better proposition - but Holden would be driving that initiative just as they are the Camaro

So that leaves us with the other side of the equation .... !!! .... WP - and I'm sure you've all read the speculation around the possible name change etc etc .... well here is my take on it! ... WP will become even more aligned with the HSV operation and will also be in the same building when they move the whole operation soon ... as a consequence of that WP will then offer additional product to Colorado and Camaro buyers that will leave the factory straight to the dealers complete and depending on the level of enhancements WP will also rebadge the Colorado ... and the Camaro with their branding - but don't expect to see this announcement anytime soon / probably late Feb or March will be the timing of that initiative !!!
The Colorado will get tuning and exhaust upgrades which I think will be popular - and I hope they also do a rear disc brake and AP job too .... they will also offer 20" wheels with "regular" bitumen tyres - that will also be good
The Camaro will get a raft of options inc an Edelbrock Supercharger recently developed for the LT1 - expect to see all sorts of stuff from wheels to better brakes and other nice stuff ... and this will all go towards the whole Walkinshaw group making a good quid ... if WP get the Camaro right a $125k price will be acceptable as the car will essentially out perform a W1 ...
    Interesting times in 2018 ...

I definitely agree with those terrible drum brakes on the Colorado! It looks terrible with those beautiful AP Racing calipers up front only to look at the rear and find dirty old drum brakes! It's like what Holden did to the VF SSV Redline and shitty cast calipers on the rear until VF2.

Silverado will of course go head to head with WP's Dodge Ram.

I still think that if HSV/WP/Holden did some heavy marketing towards Police, a V8 Colorado would be popular with government and general public.
Pursuit rules have changed in regards to vehicle classifications in all states so V8 utes can be used.
A V8 4WD Colorado could/would be used as a pursuit vehicle, general duties caged truck (paddy wagon/divvy van), dog vehicles and specialist vehicles.
Offer a reduced height package like the Police Chevy Tahoe and different wheel/tyre packages
Not to mention add the general public and it would be a winner

HSV could do up a Colorado and lend it to the Police for 12 mths to promote it like they did this GTO...

    What colour?

I was lucky enough to have a walk around the new HSV facility this week. I was surprised at how big the Dodge pickup is
I had a 70's model many years ago (a standard ute), but these things are huge, a small truck really, a lot of vehicle for the price.

As you would know a large quantity of Colorado's are on sight. With the pickup taking out the top sales award, these will sell well, I wonder without knowing any numbers if they will actually be sort after, as we know HSV is not a high volume seller.

From what I'm reading its the dealers that are playing games with prices and stock and that could backfire in all directions.(all stock on hand)
Two things I did not see, one the new HSV that will be in show rooms mid 2018 and my guess is the first run will sell out almost as quick as the GTSR W1. (Several buildings were out of bounds!)
The complete setup is great, new, and with plenty of room/buildings to have several vehicles being modified and shipped out to showrooms, whilst another vehicle is in the initial planning and testing phase. Holden out of the picture actually opens up the market, if that LCT and import duty changes, we could be in for some huge wins with safety helping the push for change.
I am still confident I will purchase another car that sits in between the GTSR and the Whale, maybe a few years off though.

During a visit to Melbourne we spotted a few new Commodores, they look okay, but will never match the VF line-up.

I'm confident HSV know what they finished with this year by way of GTSR/W1 and Maloo. I hope the W1 is not matched for many years as a complete package, however power to weight ratio wise could happen in the near future.
The second was I think the main building is still waiting on some more signage! Of course this is HSV the brand we know, but the real name behind our cars is Walkinshaw. I wonder what the Walkinshaw performance shops will do WRT the new models, not much is my guess, they will be busy with the non HSV vehicles.
GTSR upgrade parts are not in the wind! At least I will see what 295's are like on the rear, once I can confirm a set that are no more than six months old. (My last on line deal, they were 18 months old)
W1,s. and this is nothing to do with HSV. I looked at a lot unsold, the indirect story seems to be its easy to find a large cash deposit, not so easy to ask for 260-300k finance on a $170k car, I'm told finance becomes very hard once your over 15% of the base price. So if you do want a W1 in almost any colour they are still for sale, my guess is you may need to chance a mid year purchase, as attention moves to another vehicle with a much lower price tag.
    cheers Andrew
PS I not a 4WD fan with that in mind I can see some honest GTSR deals starting now. I had to sell my MY15 private, my offer was 53K and once the warranty issue was fixed I could have sold it five times at 65K (might try that next time, I could have brought a W1)
How good is that remote start when the GTSR is cold, nothing beats that for the money.
    Thanks HSV and AP.
