    ***suspension upgrade***

    Gday lads,

    Ive got a VE HSV GTS ( 07 ) with 116xxxkm and Im thinking of doing a bit of a bush and whatever maintenance on it.
    Im currently riding on Pedders Coil Over suspension ( F & R ) and brand new Nitto Nto5 and NT555. 20 inch rims.

    I think it handles OK but the bushes on top of the strut towers might be flogged out as I get a loud "thud" everytime I go over an expansion joint or too fast over a speed bump.

    What are the common problems and what should I be replacing?

    Im thinking of taking it to Pedders @ Liverpool Sydney?

    Wholesale Suspension would be a much better port of call IMO

    Haven't used them but heard plenty of good things. I don't really trust franchise type places like Pedders. There's the odd good one but the majority tarnish the reputation

    have you heard of the pedder shop in malaga? any feedback, getting some upgrades next week, xyz or xa , xyz is 250 cheaper installed, ..

    Yep, have used wholesale suspension they were all over it 5 odd years ago when I went.

    I've got the XA's in my car. They're good initially but are still a cheap coilover (same as XYZ). Haven't lasted overly long, my rear springs were shot in less than 12 months. The VE stuff should be a bit better.

    I would go to WA Suspensions, Wilkinsons or Malaga Springs and Suspension and probably go with a good spring and shock combo for that money. Koni or Bilstein

    What are common fixes on suspension ? is it just the front and rear bushes or is there more to them?

    So much can be done with suspension, depends what you want out of it

    The car has 116xxxkm on it.
    Its been driven hard by the PO ( mainly street use ).
    The top strut mounts are flogged out ( loud thump when you hit an expansion joint or go too fast over a speed hump ).
    The Pedders Coil Over are wound up too hard ( maximum setting ).

    My aim is to do a bit of R & R maintenance on the GTS and get it to drive a bit tighter.
    Time to get it up on the hoist and check it out.
