    Sorry if this is an amature question but what is the big valve looking part on one side of the exhaust and whats its purpose?

    Early Fuel Evaporation System - While the engine is operating at a cold temperature the EFE system passes exhaust gases through the inlet manifold passages. Once the temperature of the exhaust gases exceeds 49'C the exhaust heat valve opens by the TVS isolating the heat valve this then allows normal exhaust emission flow. straight from the text book.....

    Yes, with the 3.45 diff that I went to great trouble & expense to fit to that car, it becomes very driveable,...cruising in 5th is a dream, & far more responsive than with the 3.08.
