Nice rig mate. Engine tune is about the only difference b/w S1 & S2, although extractors were also different - with S2 having the (slight) benefit of a better 4-1 design. Not much in it though..

When it was actually 'special' it certainly did.
The E-Series GTS has been, in all reality, the equivalent of the pre E-series R8...
If this F-Series (lol) GTS is as we are now hearing, it will...

It is good to see that FI has happened, but in all honesty, anything less (particularly when FPV habe had FI for a while),wouldve spelt doom for HSV. Kudos to them with this and the other 'F'...

3rd gear 'lockout' as you put it is simply you hitting the shifter gate and not the gateway from 2-3 properly - not a criticism, as they all do it.
Pinging will more than likely be due to the oem...

Why not just get someone to run it up on a dyno and check the air-fuel ratio? The oxygen sensors may not necessarily be no good - it may simply be that the tune was set a tad on the rich (safe) side...

It may be lifter tick - ALL cammed engines are louder than oem. Did you ask the seller who did the mods - that'd be the first place to start I'd reckon.
For a very reputable workshop - Chev's in...

Welcome aboard Gman. Enjoy your new rig!

The LS3 heads are large (intake) port, thus, airspeed will be lower than an LS2 set-up (notwithstanding the fact that the oem LS2 manifold is a bit of a lemon), which, in turn, will have an effect...

I agree - way too low in the front mate, the VX series on standard height springs had enough issues on speedhumps / driveways, etc. You'll be in for a world of pain...

Having had braided hoses on an old car, I would be happy to say you won't need them - unless you are doing a lot of track days. Just get a GOOD brake fluid and change it as required.

He is correct - to a degree.
The camshaft was a very aggressive design for the times - some .560" lift using 1.7:1 rockers and the valvesprings were not able to control the valves at higher rpm,...

Mine has been okay, although, I have only put around 18000Km on it since the purchase in 2010. I did the cam / heads, etc, etc myself, to make it what it now is.
Previously, the original owner...

Two completely different cars - one is very nicely modified and a rare build, one you see on the road every other day. I know what I'd prefer and it is VX in nature.
Sent from a MacGalaxy far,...

And that is the whole crux of it - you are happy with the outcome - that is all that matters. Enjoy it!

When VX-Y GTS variants (A4), which have better heads than standard LS1 engines, are only making 235-245rwKw from a CAI / Exhaust / Tune, then in my humble opinion, your dyno reading is a tad on the...

Go to the efilive forum and do some searching in relation to autove tutorials, etc. Most of the required pids and tables are preloaded into the software and the software tutorials explain what you...

Yes the computer will correct and lower timing - AFTER the pinging begins - when the knock sensors detect same. If this is the first time it has occurred on the OP's car, I'd suspect fuel, but it...

Fantastic model and colour mate - great rig!!!
Enjoy it.

Sorry mate - been away and haven't checked the thread - I'll find out ASAP.

G'day all, I'm posting this for my brother - he is selling his 2003 VY A4 GTS as he needs the cash and it hasn't been driven (for more than a 20Km trip) for almost 12 months.
Manufacturer: Holden...

Scotty said it all. Good luck with the racing!

In the OTR is the best place - for a multitude of reasons. The tune has safeguards in place for high IAT.
I've done tests and the only time in the OTR is worse, is when sitting still. Once...

Sounds fantastic Karl - looking forward to the pics after it arrives on your doorstep.

There could be some other electrical problem present. A 25% UD pulley should not cause grief and should also enable a well-functioning electrical system to charge properly - even at low revs.
