I noticed the other day an Audi A8 2003 model driving past the other day in Melbourne, it had German style number plates.
Then while I was on holidays driving back from Queensland I spotted another vehicle it was a silver BMW 5, this time it was parked at the petrol station in NSW. As I was pulling into the station I saw the part were it normally has the D for Deutschland it had NSW which was strange, my luck the guy drove off before I had a chance to ask. Its a first for me can anyone explain this phenomenon?

yeah i think you have to pay extra for them though. at some point i think you had to tell them what make of vehicle you were going to put them onto (correct me if i'm wrong), but these days you can see them on all sorts of cars, not just european. I thnk the format is N-XX-000 (where the N=NSW, XX=letters and 000=numbers).

Having a look at Queensland custom plates, question why are the custom plates so expensive there? in Vic there dirt cheap compared to Queensland, is it becasue of the heat or what???
