Perth round Cancelled!

Hi all,

I just heard on the radio that the perth round has been scrapped and replaced by the queensland 500, is that right???
Apparently Barbagello would not upgrade their facilities so the v8's have moved on.

Im spewing, i was really looking forward to going this year.

Well it's officialThanks to our bunch of dead heads at parliment house we have lost one of WAs biggest events.All I can say is Colin Barnet F$%k you.

Its been in the works for a few years... Barbagello hasn't been quick enough to upgrade the conditions and the Perth government weren't willing to do a street circuit like was originally thought up.

You can't blame them though, the track/venue conditions are pathetic compared to the other cities. I'm contemplating going to Hidden Valley this year, just unsure if it will fit on my calender!

I was at barbagello on the weekend for the drifting and it has been the same old tin boxes for years, and when the v8's do come their pits is a bloody marqee tent so i can understand where they are coming from. Im more pissed that they have been arguing about upgrading it for years and no one has done anything, ok so they put down a new bit of concrete and a new burnout pad but come on, thats about 5k.

Could be a good excuse for a big purchace of car bra's and a big cruise over east haha.

Barbagellos needs a 'multi-million $ upgrade' to its 'third world track and pits' before it can host Supercars again.

Well Colin reakons about 5 years before bargs is up to scratch so it looks like im going to be going to bathurst and surfers a year or so early.

Holy s**t, i just googled abu dhabi yas marina racetrack, in comparison bargs is a motocross track haha

Been coming for awhile yes.Well it's going to hurt them . I will certainly remember this around voting time.So will alot of others and when you have have 100.000 turning up for the event thats alot of votes you won't be getting.

Funny that they say they don't have the money.Seems tobe plenty to pay for a stupid friggin fairarse wheel on the foreshore to name but one of our many WTF is that for attractions.

Shame yes but have been wanting to do Bathurst,Phillip Island and Clipsal and will do all this year.Thats only if Collin doesn't shut down the airport cos it cost to much.

I know mate, i was at ford fast brake grandstand in 05/06 and those front bars get smashed! My brother got the front bar of Besnards car one year and there was not much left :o

i found 5 facebook petitions so far and i have joined all 5. Hopefully wascc, v8's and the WA gov can get something sorted. But apparently Rick Gill (head of wascc) was saying on the news that the v8's have never contacted them, fingers crossed its a media c**k up.
