hey guys. just washed my clubby and had it looking prime. went to bed. woke up the next morning and my neighbour had his sprinkler going. Unfortunately he had, (as usual) the sprinkler going all over my car, leaving horrible watermarks all over my car. Is there any products out there to reduce the visibility of watermarks over a long period. So i dont have to wash it every time he waters his lawn....
dark blue really shows up the water marks.....

Dude you need to open a can of whoop ass on your neighbour. I would put up with that once and once only then if he didn't listen to my kind words to stop..... well Big Bunny would be stepping into the ring.
You could also try some spray wax as it is quick and really easy to use.

Yeah, just buy a bottle of quick detailer or something similar. Spray on, wipe off with a microfibre or terry towel. Saves me washing my car 3 times a week. Very good for removing water marks, dust, polish residue etc.

cool thx ill have a look around. as for "opening a can of whoop ass" they have been very good in all other aspects they fully rebuilt the front lawn from nothing.
which meant getting in a gradeer etc and always got us to move the cars etc out of reach so as not to throw dirt/gravel on the cars and cleared our driveway after.
so i dont wanna stir up any trouble. been trying to swittch side in the driveway (4 spot driveway) for ages anyway.

atm im at the X id rather be on the other side away from his lawn. just a matter of convincing the others that mines more important :P
VE sv6, vz ss, mazda 2 and my vt clubby.....

hey mate why don`t you put a cover over it if you have to park it in the drive or clean out the shed ha ha ps try hosing at off and chamie it off it take`s me about 5min when i go out and it get`s all the dust off it to

yeah i dont like hosing too much cause if the other cars are around i get water on them and i cbf chamoiing 4 cars lol.
as for the cover. i would but its my daily driver. so getting cover on and off each time would get very tiresome.
not to mention i love looking out the window to see my car gleaming. and as for shed we dont have one. used to have a carport downstairs years ago.
was converted to make this a 6 bedroom house. no shed :(

Which spray detailer can people recommend - is the Meguiars ones any good?

Yeah it's not bad, I use the Meguires "quick detailer" but the Scratch X really lifts the stains off.

Yeah, I use the meguiars one too. Just the normal red/burgandy bottle, same stuff as the "gold class" black bottle IMO, just cheaper.
I've tried the Sonax stuff but it seemed to be more of a spray wax and takes too much effort to get off. Red Mist from Dodo is also meant to be very good but isn't as easily accessible as Meguairs and a bit more expensive.

Hmmmmm... Unless the 'neighbour' is using tank water I thought that water restrictions means that he shouldn't be using a sprinkler to water anything???
(Well at least in NSW that is the case... not sure about other states)

no unfortunately there are no restrictions in tasmania (which means i can wash car whenever i want :P) but it means he can leave his sprinkler going for 6 hours through the day......
i think ill get meguiars one and see how that goes.
dont suppose there is any products about that would protect from watermarks. IE wash car with it and then if it rains the next day, or sprinkler, it wont show any water marks, like for a week or untill it washes off or something? (have a feeling this might be a "dreamin" item that doesnt exist but would be great lol)

Yeah, you're dreaming!
A couple of coats of wax will help bead the water and get most of it to run off before it dries, but its always going to get some marks on it.

Use the Meguiar's ULTIMATE QUIK DETAILER after washing and drying your car. Comes in a black spray bottle.
Then follow up with Meguiar's NXT GENERATION TECH WAX 2.0 which comes in a violet squeeze bottle.
You shouldn't have any problems after that.

As I said before, I find the 2 quik detailers exactly the same, just the black bottle is more expensive (although I think it is a tiny bit bigger).
I also use the Tech 2.0 wax but in the tin/paste. Much better than the bottle, don't know why but gave me heaps better results.

thanks heaps for all the info guys ill have to go get shopping.
with all this heat a nice quick spray product or two might be handy rather than full wax n polish etc everytime i wash it.
got sunburnt the other day and all i was doing was hose and sponge w/soap job and brush for the brake dust and wet n easy on the tyres.

The stuff ain't cheap. The Tech Wax 2.0 goes a long way, start sparingly with it at first and you will work out how much you need to use each dab.
But it is all worth it in the end and your neighbour will be astounded with how his water beads off your ride.. ;)

Quick Detailer can be used on a dry or wet surface aswell.

Have you tried asking the bloke to give you the heads up before he starts watering so you can at least move your ride?

Would that be like praying to God and asking him for tomorrow's weather forecast??
