Well, its been so long since the last cruise, I thought I better step up and organise the next.
I am thinking Sunday the 13th Dec (weather on our side). My wife would like to come to this one and she needs to be home by 4pm to get ready for work.
Maybe we will start a little earlier, cruise to a lunch point and back home again.
Give me a few of days to come up with a plan and I will let you know.
Might have to do a few circles around east malvern to satisfy Stewies bladder..

Guys, for those that cant make it on the 13th, can you make it on the 12th? If so I will come without my wife (bad choice of words I know) and we will do it then. Personally this is the only weekend between now and Xmas that I can do, but if the Saturday suits more accross the board we will do that.

I will get some advice from some car nuts at work as far as detinations and good cruises go as they have done a few. By the end of Tuesday I hope to have something finalised.

Hehe yeah I guess I should, but I never really take sickies as I am 4 on 4 off....so get plenty of break normally. I have just gotten used to the disappointment of missing out on certain functions over the years of shift work I guess.
I Do take Annual leave if need be though but wont get leave approved for December...too many punters flying about then. Wont promise anything but i might try a shift change with a mate or somethin if possible...
I wouldnt want to be flying on plane that hasn't had its maintenance done though..thats why I dont fly on ones with Kangaroos on em ...hahahaha

Well guys, the route will be up around where the fires were back in Feb (hope nobody has an issue with this). I reckon meet in Mooroolbark somewhere. Either a round trip through marysville, or up to alexandra, accoss to Yea and back home.

I prefer the longer run but I will await feedback before finalizing.

I will organise somewhere to have lunch that has plenty of parking.

Timing will depend on the route as we would want to have lunch around midday.

Fingers crossed for the weather.

The cruise is looking larger by the day, job well done. Keep up the good work. Oh yeah, any chance of a basic route? I would say what has been suggested to date seems to have been accepted but it would be nice to have it spelt out. If they don't like it they can always stay at home or go cruising Chapel street with the ricers.

Exact stopping points might be determined by good photo locations (as seen on the day) which I am not aware of at this stage.

I have contact details for any donations to be made in Marysville. Let me know if you guys have a couple of things to give. If so I will organise a stopping point there to pass them over. If there is only a couple of items between us all, its probably not worth the hassle.

According to google maps this is about 3.5 hours round trip to and from Mooroolbark. So in all fairness it would be more like 3hrs driving. Is everyone OK with this?

I am still yet to finalise the lunch point but as soon as I get up from this corner, put some plasters on I will do it.

I will also put some times against the various points to give us a rough idea of what to expect.

Bunnings Chirnside Park 8:30 (refer to post #77)
Leave bunnings 9:00 sharp
Regroup, 248 Maroondah Hwy Healesville. There is caffeine facilities there
Just after McKenzie Rd (other side of Healesville) there is a rest area. Good spot for pics. Leave here at 10:30
Turn Right at Marysville Rd and go to Marysville to drop off goodies. Leave by 11:30
On to Alexander, a quick regroup and into Yea for lunch
Depart Yea by 1:45
If we are on time or better we will travel down Wittlesea Yea Rd to enter Kinglake West and into Kinglake itself for a quick gathering and snake watching. Otherwise we will go straight down the Melba Hwy to Kinglake.
Back to Bunnings (starting point) by 3:15.


Now, as far as lunch goes, I have gone off the idea of reservations as there may be up to 50 of us. This might make our lunch take 2 hours:mad:
There is a spot that has 2 cafes and I'm sure bakerys are in the vacinity also. So we will ad lib this part.

I guess I am putting my nuts on the line here making a call.

As I am sure you are aware we are all very passionate about our cars and we get excited about meeting others who feel the same way.
I would prefer if we stuck to HSVs however I dont see a problem with good Holden V8 cars (and owners) joining us.

At the end of the day (and I think I speak for all here) we dont want beat up v6 executives putting a pimpil in our line up.

So all that being said, I would say bring it along to the next one!!

Nah Stewie no injuries just fkn pissed off! my run of bad luck is really starting to give us the shits, It really needed a new one anyway with alll the stonechips ect, It's covered by my insurance but still a pain in the arse, Gotta take it to Ferntree Gully Rd Notting Hill on friday to get fixed because they recon they couldnt come out to my house before sunday for the cruise so am having to take it to them... what a mission.

Well guys, lets hope the weather holds up as its not looking flash at the moment.
My wife has organised a dude to meet us in Marysville for a drop off of unwanted goods. He will do his best to spread the word and hopefully get some interest in the cars as well.
He did mention that he is working Sunday so he will be a bit dirty, so we shall not hold that against him.
He has already thanked us all very much.
