The only thing about this club,it run by 2-3 ppl.Not a friendly club at all. They is no support,no sponsor's and the member hardly drive they car,so they hardly a car cruise either.I was a member untill after the brocky cruise which only lasted 2hr's,what a wasted of time.Took me longer to polish my car.If anyone want to join up,I have a club shirt 4 sale

Hiya! I can see that no one has posted here for a while, but i was maybe wanting to join the HSV club here in SA but wasn't sure if you'd want someone who owns a HSV VXR as i know that some people don't think it's a proper HSV.
Thoughts would be appreciated,
Thanx!
Mel :-)

Anyone who's got an HSV in S.A. & who would like to join a REALLY friendly active Club in S.A. should join the HDT Owner's Club of S.A....HDT & HSV BOTH wecome & both with the same status......and of course, A VXR would be most welcome.
PM me if you need contact details.
Cheers, Pickles.

One of my mates was going to join this club. He got the unfriendly vibe too. He said he pretty much had to sit through what felt like a job interview before they'd even consider letting him join, the whole experience pretty much turned him off straight away. To their defence I think they want to weed out any hoons so they don't get a bad name like many other Adelaide car clubs have these days.

Hey Everyone,

The HSV Club SA is in hiatus, lots of interest but not enough energetic people to take the reigns and form a committee.
I have since moved on and joined the HDT Owners Club SA,(inc HSV's) great club, great people and a good mix of both HDT/HSV cars.
The club meets on the 2nd Mon of each month at the Elephant & Castle on West Tce at 8pm, always looking to meet new people.
The next meeting will be the 11th April if you are interested, or keep an eye on the Advertiser Thursdays in the club section.
This year marks the 25th Anniversary of the club there are some exciting things in the wind.

Cheers,
Steve.

Hey guys,
Was wondering what goes on at these meetings? Is it all official style or just a get together of friends?

What if I just wanted to tag along on cruises if you have any. Or more importantly do you have cruise days?

Mate, if you're talking about just wanting to go on a cruise, you can do that anywhere....you don't need to belong to a Car Club to do that.
Car Clubs, particularly the one in question, are about a lot more than that. They will want to get to know you, and your car, and they will want you to be involved.
The social side of a Club is VERY important, particularly for the ladies (did anyone mention champagne?!).
This Club does have a VERY GOOD social agenda...club runs, car displays, show/shines etcetc...a LOT more than simply "cruising".
If all you are interested in is cruising...you don't need a car club....but, if you've got a nice HDT or HSV & want to get involved with people of similar interests, this club could be for you..
Cheers, Pickles.

Oh Martin you stole my thunder. Everything "Pickles" has said is true, HDT Owners Club is a great club, wish i'd joined years ago instead of the HSV Owners Club (way too many precious people & politics there). This club doesn't get tied up in itself & the people are a joy to be involved with. There is a meeting this coming Monday for those that are interested, details are as per previous posts.
Cheers,
Steve.
PS another Senator in the ranks would keep me on my toes !!

I think we have approx 30 financial members, made up of 50/50 HDT's/ HSV's. If you enjoy a beer and a good time come along and introduce yourself.

Cheers,
Steve.

Thanks for the feed back 'Pickles' and 'hsvls2' you've sparked my interest. I might have to come down Monday for a meet and greet, it does sound pretty good.

I had an extremely pathetic experience with another car club years ago but that was full of really young idiots, but this sounds like what a club should be. Keep an eye out for me.

Ps: 'hsvls2' I tried getting the same plates as yours a few weeks back. Luckily 'LS2 HSV' was gone as well. (would've been too weird, both named Steve with reverse plates on the same model car) settled for 'HSV VZ'.

I went on a SA HSV club run a couple of years ago. I didnt really enjoy the run, the club wasnt for me for some of the reasons mentioned.
The HDT Owners club of SA as mentioned by Pickles is a good club. I was lucky enough to attend one of there functions where myself and my family where made more than welcome. A very nice bunch of people. If you are looking for a club in SA and have a HDT / HSV they might be worth a look. Im hoping to get a long to a couple of there events soon, as work permits.

Or if there was enough numbers in SA we could do a forum club that meets up once a month for a cruise ??

ok, seeing there is a bit of interest in a forum meet up / cruise idea. We would have to get a idea of numbers, I will post a seperate thread to get a idea of interest. It would be good to get something happening in SA.

New to this forum, but I've been a member of hdt owners SA for about 15years, great people, cars and events. Well worth exploring. Vic members regularly driving over for events must say something for the club (hey Pickles)
