Gday all,
On Friday morning the missus and I took off for Phillip island for a quick trip and returned back to Adelaide on Monday.
The race itself was brilliant, it was great to see everyone in blue standing and cheering as lowndes come down the straight to start the last lap, then everyone in red standing and hounding them when the checkered flag dropped.
The format of having to race to qualify i think is a real winner.
If you havent been to phillip island for a v8 race before i think the atmosphere at this venue is indescribable and you should go if you get the chance, we went to sandown last year but compare to phillip island. We are lucky enough to stay in a friends house within walking distance to the track. It would be easy to still drive but we prefer to walk and enjoy the endless number of v8s heading too and from the track... although when it bucketed down with rain about 1/2 hour after the race had finished, we were half way home and i would have prefered to have driven.
ive attached a couple of pics of cars in the pits... i had to resize them down quite harshly so i hope they still look ok.

Was a top race, can't believe Tander wins on last lap. I'll be heading out to Bathurst and can't wait. One day hope to get down to Phillip Island never been there before.

Cool, nice pics. Apparently there will be a 2nd round at Phillip Island this year, to replace the Bahrain round. However, it will be 2x 200km races.

I thought it was going to be a Winton round??? Will stand corrected though~~ :-|

Sorry Josh for not replying sooner but i've been away for a few days.
We got a pit walk each morning included with our stand tickets. On saturday morning our walk happened just before they were about to come out on their practice which was awesome as the cars were all running and being prepped. Most of the drivers were all in the pits aswell standing around ready to go out.

Confirmed Phillip Island in November, I think the 14/15th weekend.

Apparently the TV coverage will appear on Sunday only...

the phillip island 300 is on the 7-8th of nov.
the telecast sounds like its still up in the air on what they are going to do... see what happens i guess.
