Have any of you heard or got the upgrade? I was after some feedback as I am considering it?

Love the way the dodgey JBL sticker does not cover the Blaupunkt blue circle properly that is printed on the head unit ( see close up pic on their website) I hope this is not an indication of Walkinshaw's attention to detail or quality of product they are putting into your pride and joy. This probably leads to a better question why the rebadge of the radio? Isnt it still a Blaupunkt with Walkinshaw enhancements ? If they are on the rebadge thing whats to say theyt are not Super Cheap subs with JBL badges. All sounds like an over priced rip to touch up enthusiasts and over price what should be a cheap mod. When I get the maloo mid August first job will be to rip out the head unit and find out what is going on. I will also list my findings and work out some audio video mods. Being colour LCD that has a GPS input ( didnt buy that option Tom Tom works well for me) should be able to hook, TV, Dvd, Playstation etc to the head unit along with unlimited combinations of amps and speakers.

hey there Maloo145, i have a ve clubby with roof mounted dvd, it would be great to know also how to disable the fuction that stops the dvd from playing on the main front lcd screen also, once you start accelerating, this would be handy for front seat passengers.

Can do it all, they manufacture video and audio leads for the VE sound system with the colour screen. This enables you to hook up dvd, TV etc and have it play through this monitor. FYI the inputs are to the side of the centre console panel in the drivers foot well. They also have a VMI ( vehicle in motion) reprogramming which REMOVES the vehicle in motion lock so you can watch DVDs, TV etc at ALL speeds. They are working on an auto swithching system for a reversing camera where it puts up a pic on the monitor when reverse is selected, no buttons to push. I also believe they are working on a Sat Nav system heaps cheaper the OEM and uses all the monitors touch screen controls same as factory.

I think they can mail order eveything if you are not local. I cant wait for my new maloo to arrive I will be right down there myself to get hooked up. Now I gotta find me a DVD player which has a remote eye ( sensor ) that I can install in the glovebox and still control it with the remote control while the glovebox is closed, also needs AV and audio inputs for the TV hookup, then im crusin

I found a external DVD with A/V inputs on the front and back ( AV1 and AV2) http://www.soundstream.com.au/prod_av.html the Vdvd-160 also has a remote eye. Now I can hook the TV reciever to the DVD close the glove box and BINGO !
This has nearly become a full time job finding this gear !

You can get very good quality high-level to line-level converters from Jaycar. They include noise-cancelling built-in. I've used them in my wife's X5 and in my R8, and my brother's used them in a few of his cars as well. Cheap too8)

Might look into that, I heard NOISE in the VE audio system can be annoying and easily done, and very hard to isolate. Did you use one of these in your VE? At $15.00 bucks the Jaycar converter is very good pricing.

Yes, I use one to drive a small sub in the boot.
Not only is it noise-free, but it doesn't take any signal away from the stock speakers that it's leeching off of.

Hey Maloo,
When I bought my car, I wanted a NAV system. The HSV dealer strongly recommended me away from the Holden unit and suggested aftermarket instead.
So I ended up with a VDO Dayton NAV installed in my R8.
It is great, much better than the Holden nav. However there are two things that really drive me nuts about it, and they're both in the head-unit, not the NAV. I'm hoping that with your research into the VE system you might be able to help with them.
Item 1: The built-in bluetooth telephone kit takes over the screen completely whenever you're on the phone, so you can't see the map, just a blank screen with the words 'Voice In' in the middle. I don't really need the screen to remnind me I'm on the phone, but I sure would like to be able to look at the map of where I am sometimes!!
Item 2: I can't get audio from the NAV unit into the system. In fact, I've had to use a small separate speaker under the dash connected directly to the NAV to get the audio prompts. It's annoying because the system obviously has a facility for the stock Holden NAV audio, but I don't know how to hook into it and so have to use this crappy speaker.:(
:-?Any ideas? (and sorry for the long post and thanks in advance!)
