um one question, at the bottom you say petrol/gas. Now how can you also call it unmolested? Im stuggling to come to terms with the fact that a car with 9000k's on it was deemed nesesary to be fitted with gas?

Just curious. What makes it an "Interceptor"?
Was it a special build or is it just the standard police spec?
Only asking beause I had a VK ex-pursuit a few years ago and that was just a V8 SL with a "police spec" engine, extractors, tacho, FE2 suspension, LSD and no power steering.

This vehicle was brought from the South Australian government auctions in 1986; but the vehicle was manufactured in 1985; as a special order to the south Australian police department, specifically, highway patrol, between Whyalla and Port Augusta areas in South Australia, with a speedo reading 8,462 kms

Hence, it's rare white colour. It is all original, documented all numbers matching, it has LPG gas fitted, from when I purchased it, it was them put on the road, for a period of ten years as a taxi.

It has recorded 525,482 kms it still has the original drive train and being a taxi, it was fully maintained and inspected twice yearly by the taxi board, of South Australia.

It is running and registered, it has minimal surface rust in a few spots, which I have repaired to minimise future rust build up, on the original paint.

It is used as a daily driver and excellent maintained all its life. The interior is all original except the top of the rear seat needs a re-trim (as usual for its age).

It is very rear to see a white highway patrol VK patrol interceptor on the roads today and their value is increasing very quickly as time goes on, being an original unmolested vehicle (apart from the LPG fitted for economy which can be removed at anytime).

It has a brand new Holley 650 vacuum secondaries carbie fitted recently.

And by the way, from the factory it was made with power steering and air cond.

It is what GMH named them, for the police highway patrol for "intercepting high speed pursuits"
in the country not the city. i.e. much faster top end speed to catch the criminals.

If you truly have 70k to pay for this collectable, which is worth a lot more and will increase in the coming years, don't think for a second that I'm an idiot and that I don't know the true value of this vehicle when Peter Brock based his VK Blue, 'Peter Brock Special Edition' commodores, which are worth way more which were based on this particular VK interceptor.

If you think I'm stupid keep playing your game.

But if your serious, the car is for sale now for 70k.

In WA they were all white, so not very rare. The only thing that would make this one rare it that it's travelled OVER 1/2 MILLION km's.:o
Seriously though, they aren't rare and they aren't collectable. They are a Commodore SL with a few upgrades. A V8 Berlina or Calais would be worth more.

What about this one,

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160181492303

that sold for $4999, with only 166,000 Ks.

Dont see why your one being white, and an ex taxi as well, is worth anything like $40,000.

Yes brock did use this model as a base for his brocks. BUT only the manuel version! The only rare interceptors are the VK factory manuel ones which were fitted with brock engines. Including the brock engine number prefix. The auto ones are just a v8 sl with a stock standard 120ish kw engine. The manuel ones were 160ish kw.
lol..... im not stupid. But i think you put the decimal point a couple of digets to many to the right.
