hey guys,
new to the forum. i've got about 20-25k to spend at the end of the year and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions, ive been lookin at a few wrx's, hsv's and ss's. also if i got an ss would the engine in that be the same as the 1 in an equivalent model hsv minus the mods of course.
thanks

That was my price range and I went for a low km VT R8 Clubby. My second option probably would have been a VY SS but now I have the Clubby I'm glad I didn't go for the SS. You could possibly find a VX clubsport for 25k but it would be hard to find a nice one at that price.

The engine from the VTII to the VYII is the same LS1 5.7LTR (350ci) in both the HSV and Holden models.
I suggest a VT Series2, VX Series1 or VX Series2, either HSV or Holden SS. You could almost get a VY SS with 25k.
The HSV VX power is 255kW versus the Holden SS of 225kW. Sorry, unsure of torque figures.
Best of luck mate, what ever you do, do NOT buy a vehicle with the Blue Oval on it (thats right, the four letter 'F' word). : ) Let us know how you go!!
