This absolutely immaculate machine has been owned by my 83 year old father who bought it after he retired -- he is now in a nursing home and handed in his drivers licence about 5 years ago. My brother and I have kept his pride and joy maintained ,registered and insured and take him for a run in it occasionally. He is no longer able to do that so the wagon is up for sale.
The vehicle speaks for itself -- immaculate inside and out -- travelled only 66,593 klm since new. This is build No.001 of it's series and was on the HSV stand at the Sydney Motor Show when this series was released.
Paint is Silver over Rose Grey -- Navy Blue leather with velour inserts in the seats with matching door trims, suede material covers the console and dash areas.
It has the 5 litre 180kw engine totally unmodified. It has a heavy duty tow package plus the rear suspension is air adjustable from a switch on the dash console. It has been just fitted with a new exhaust system , new rear brake pads, new air and fuel filters , new plugs and new leads plus a new battery.Last weekend it was fitted with 2 new front tyres plus a wheel alignment. Naturally it has logbooks. A true sports wagon. Asking $18,500.

Well my dad passed away late last year and we still have the car -- we haven't really tried too hard to sell it.
It due for rego at the end of the month.
What do you think a rare and immaculate machine like this is worh ? We have to make a decision now as to whether to keep it or sell it .
It is insured via Shannons for $20,000.

Well I still have this immaculate machine -- it has now done only a bit over 69,000 Klm but I am seriously thinking it is time to sell. Registered until 28th February 2010. I intend to take it to Shannons to see about either their Park and Sell option or maybe their next Sydney Auction. Does anyone have any thoughts on a price for this rare HSV.

Mate, Your dad certainly had a rare piece of history. Unfortunately prices for wagons never seem to have the collectablity like the sedans and ute's do. I think for something like this (along with the sentimental reasons) it'd be worth holding on to if you can. Especially now that the bubble for muscle car extreme prices has recently burst. It it were mine and i had the room for it I think i'd hang on to it and wait for the prices to turn around again. By that time there could be a market for something as rare as this. Certainly looks like its in excellent condition

I still have this great machine -- Shannons did not think it was old enough for their auction. I am interested to hear any offers round $17,000 if was going to part with it.

This wagon has still only done 69,000 klm -- registered until 28th February 2011. Still immaculate -- is there any interest out there at around the $16,000 mark ?
It is still insured for $17,000.

Looks to be in fantastic condition, and a definate credit to yourself and your father. I think you're in the ballpark with regards to cost, its just a matter of finding a buyer as its not the type of vehicle you could easily sell.

Perhaps put it on carsales or even on consignment at a performance vehicle yard if you have any over there?
