Hi People.... It's been a while since I have been on the forum (Health hasn't been too good-Kidney
stones... anyway, long story so won't bore you with it)
Thought I would post up some changes that have happend to the old Clubby... hope you like.
Peddles to VY/VZ + Sill panel covers.
http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa307/HSV271/RIMG0192.jpg
http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa307/HSV271/New_Door_Sills_Front.jpg
Strut brace + Split engine covers and paint... What a bloody difference the bloody strut brace makes.
http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa307/HSV271/Detailing/RIMG0230-SML.jpg
Brakes upgraded as it only cost me $2200 for the set(Needed to change rotors @$1450F&R + pads@$349
+ overhaul caliparsF/R@$390)... bloody Holden
http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa307/HSV271/New_Brakes2_sml.jpg
Professionally detailed... :-D
http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa307/HSV271/RIMG0183.jpg
The rest of the Suspension went in...8) & the result
http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa307/HSV271/pI_1168895446.jpg
http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa307/HSV271/RIMG0183c-Copy.jpg
OTRCAI + Custom Tuned + Mild Cam = 249.8rwkw :D, could have gone bigger but the wifey drives it as well.
(Stock, before any changes was 201rwkw)
http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa307/HSV271/OTRCAI_1_sml.jpg
So now I am letting the wifey get use to it and then upgrade the Heads/Exhaust and a bigger cam, which
should get the car well over 300rwkw according to my tuner/mechanic. Then I have to worry about the
clutch/gearbox/diff... all good fun though. :p
Cheers,
Bill

Nice ride mate, looks very clean....
Not at the moment... pics are a little old now... she has been sitting outside :( in the rain & dust  because I am rebuilding the garage. It’s been a friggin nightmare and almost 4months, but ending soon(4weeks)
nice brakes why did u have to spend 2200 on them?? ithought r8s come wit those brakes....
Only the VX GTS & SV300 in the VX series came with 4spot calipars/343mm rotors... and they were Harrops.
So when I had to spend almost 2k to replace my standard 2piston/1piston 330mmF/315mmR, I found the AP Racing ones on evilbay(ebay) and took a chance and got them @ $2200(insurance/postage).
RRP from Holden/HSV when I asked in Jan2007 was 9k (Complete kit) and from Holmart.com.au was ~3.5k(I think they still have them for that price)

Small update... got myself some track rims as I am shredding my road tyres and have marked my original rims. Brand new, 18x8's, Cheap...really cheap... $89 each($356) I'm thinking of powder coating them black if I can find someone in Sydney that will do a good job...
Now to find some good track tyres(as cheap as possible) any suggestions would be appreciated people.

Nope, would never buy off evilBay any rims unless I can view/try them on before hand... Got them from Bob Jane T-Marts http://www.bobjane.com.au/Specials/images/bob_cat_specials.pdf... See the last page.
They are/where supposed to be $119 each for 18x8's but a mate(Brother in Law) works there so got them at the lower price... good to have family in the business. ;)
Now to find tyres and a good powder coater in Sydney... Any ideas people???

nice car mate,

Thanks adlee... :D
Ended up getting Bridgestone RE55 245/40R18 93W SR compound.
RRP they go between $425-500 each but I managed to get them a lot cheaper than that at a GraysOnline auction($400 the lot). You can sometimes pickup second hand Semi slicks off EvilBay, even slicks are sometimes available as well( B U T... you cannot drive on the street with them on and most Semi slicks are street legal).
You can get them at any Bridgestone seller, the best price I got was from Bob Jane T marts, in Sydney @ Haberfield($410) and I was going to get them from there until I spotted them at the auction.
From my investigation when I was looking for track tyres I have this:-
• Blair's Tyres @ Peakhuhrst/Sydney has Toyo R888's @ $481 & Falken Azenis RT215 @ $475
• Gordon Leven @ Emu Plains/Sydney has Bridgestone RE55's @ $480(225) & $500(245)
• Gary's Motorsport @ Arndell Park/Sydney has Dunlop DZ02-R/H compound's @... wait for it.... $625(245)
• Kim Davis Tyres @ Magill/SA/ADL has Bridgestone RE55's /SR compound @ $440 and delivery is ~$20/tyre to Sydney overnight with TNT.
You can also try www.tractiontyres.com.au for seconds.

Thanks man... Wifey loves it but any furhter mods stop here as I am planning an LS3 swap as the LS1 is not too healthy.
Detailing was done by a mob called Sponge'N'Bubbles, but I think thay are no longer in business & cost me $370 :o ... Well worth it as the car had never, Once more... NEVER, had any detailing done until then.
I have been told that Dan from DMS Detailing(http://www.dmsdetailing.com.au/) does some awesome stuff, comes to you so you need to book and have seem some of his work... not bad, not bad at all... maybe even better than the guy's I got. Expect to pay about the same or more depenedig on the level on work & products required.

Just thought I'd update the thread a little... New house for the toy's is complete.
I have been trying to get this done as an owner builder for the last year or so... just can't believe how many
things you have to do just to get the dam thing in, been quite an education. The Steel Garage was the simple bit... all the rest was a pain to deal with.
http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa307/HSV271/Garage%20Rebuild/RIMG0150.jpg
http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa307/HSV271/Garage%20Rebuild/RIMG0144.jpg
http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa307/HSV271/Garage%20Rebuild/RIMG0145.jpg
6x9m(54sqm)... 16.9cubic m of concrete, 400mm wide retaining walls all the way around with 15mm reo every
300mm in the side, at least 500mm below ground level with a 500mm rise at the rear(which is the highest) and a
200mm slab using 35MPa concrete.
I would have gone 7x12m but would have had to paint the palms of too many council people with extra $$$ + Structural Engineers + surveyors’ + drainage reports. All because Canterbury Council max size is 54sqm for non residential structure. Anything over 54sqm is considered as a dwelling(Where people live in) which subject to
different rules & regulations and added ~ 7-12K to the entire cost.
But all good in the end and I am very happy with the end result.
P.S WAY over budget...

Well got a unexpected opportunity to get to the track during the week due to a cancellation from a customer for some work... soooo... got my ass to Wakefield for an open day and to properly test the new power steering cooler I recently install with some mates and fellow track hoons.
My last track fix before the end of the year... yippeeeehttp://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa307/HSV271/Fun/b6b8dda8.gif
Got up @ 6:00am, by 6:30 was on my way down and beat all my mates there so was first on the track with all the(sorry, no offense meant to anyone...) pimple face, p plater, wannabee ricer racers... more on of that later.
Track was in good nic but seemed to have more patches around turn 2/3, or I kept hitting them at least. I had the measure of all there except for my mates with the blowers & strokers(408ci/LS1 & 440ci/LS7 :o)... I hate you, hate you... I need more powerrrrr... damit, I sound like Clarkson!!! Anyway around the corners I was able keep up with them all, but down the front straight I was being blown away.
Went out for two runs with the ricers and almost paid dearly in the second session when one of them(I think it was a pulsar)went off @ turn 4/5 and ended up going blindly into a dust storm missing the apex and spearing off the other side.... then a little fcuking 2 door Civic green P Plater @ the dogleg turns in waaaaay tooooo soon, clips the inside left wheels on the ripple strip, two wheels the car(Almost rolling it over, OMFG!!!) and stops right in front of me, I slam the brakes, ABS kicks in and I stop about 2m from his left hand side door with the little fcuker starring at me, laughing, like it was funny what he had just done... Anyway, after the session was over... a very upset 6ft 2, 98kg, Greek boy went over and had a fcuking chat with said driver... all 4ft something, 40kg of him the piece of shit. Third session we all stayed out of the first group and made the second group our own. Sooooo much better, everyone respected everyone else on the road, gave way and more importantly looked in their mirrors.
Really threw the car around and believe that I was quicker this time around... as said I was able to keep up with the boys around the bends, even catching them up... or they were not trying as hard.
Oh and the power steering oil temp was only between 105-115* compared to 185* last time*(Max temp for this is 170*) and to the other boys I met, sorry I have forgotten your names(VZ SS, Evo IX & Integra Type R) guy's, it was great to meet you as well.
Anyways... Just some piccy's below:- (No In car, forgot the video cam)

Hey people...
Took the old girl out to Oran Park(GP Circuit) for AROCA, HSV, SSCC & WRX Clubs 2009 Inerclub Supersprint series.
Was a great day, started my first few laps @ 1:45-40, got it down to 1:30's. Fastest last was on lap 5 @ 1:28.9900 then on lap 7, came off at the kink(turn 1) @ 170, dropped the right rear on the grass which turned me around, hit the side of the ripple strip which threw me into the infield.
Did two more laps not at any great speed and the car did not feel right so went to the pits and apart from the car covered in dirt I seen this...

Parts Used: 2 rear camber kits, 2 Inner bearings, 2 Outer bearings, 1 rear control arm & 2 CV driveshafts.
The car is all fixed now and drives better than it did before and luckly I did not damage the Diff as well.

Thanks man..... I am lucky that the damage was relatively minor... Regardless I had a blast and will be out there again @ Oran Park-South circuit this time for the 3rd round in late May. :D

And.... two weekends later I was out to the skidpan @ EC for some Slip n’ Slide. Apart from the HUGE smile on my face and the sore arms/shoulders I now have this to clean now... Doh!!!

P.S Took me 2½ days to clean it...
Day 1 - 5hrs to clean the inside of all the dust from my off @ OP as I had the window open(Not doing that again...) which filled the inside of the car with dust. Vacuumed it from top to bottom, foam cleaner on all the seats and rear parcel tray, washed & cleaned all the insides of the doors, sill panel & door jams.
Day 2 - Almost 7hrs to wash it – Told wifey to move her car out and started... I jacked up the car and put it up on stands, took all the wheels off... Scrubbed the inside the wheel arches with a soft brush & covered the car in soap to soften it up and the blasted it with the pressure cleaner. Cleaned the wheels and the pressure cleaned the engine bay & under carriage and let it dry off a little while I put the wheels back on and dropped the car off the stands. Then wet it up again went over it twice with a lamb’s wool mitt, chamoi’ed it between washes and put it in the garage to clay bar it.
+ 4hrs in the garage the next day, to put 2 coats of polish and 3 coats of NXT tech wax 2.0... all by hand.
All good fun!!!!

Yesterday I decide to give the "OLD'er" girl some TLC(Seeing that I am a bum at the moment...)Apart from the Clubby, I also have a genuine, 1975, HJ GTS Monaro with a 308 & 4spd, 4 door in original condition.
Now after owning the Clubby since 2001 the Monaro does not see many days on the road and since I started to build the garage in October/September 2008 has been in storage ever since. When the garage was completed I drove it 500m from the storage place and parked it back into its new home.
After un-wrapping her, I put the battery back in(I keep it charged using an external charger...) Put the wheels back on her and dropped her down from her stands. Then put the go-jacks on the front and swung her around as I have her diagonally in the garage... after a few pumps of the gas pedal, she fired up straight away... dam I love the sound of this thing(Very old school V8 rumble....)
Then spent the next 3hrs washing her, here are some after pics (Forgot to take some before’s...)

Interior needs attention...

The obligatory engine shot... No idea what power it makes since the rebuild, but I know it's carby(Holley 650DP) is too small for the heads/cam.

And here is what 25 years between Holden models looks like...

Hey man love your clubby ! I swear I've seen it in my shed :P haha
Sucks live so far from Sydney, I'd give your clubby a rub round the track lol I noticed you had to upgrade your brakes to the bigger ones, I went on HSV and found out mine had them from factory, also had performance suspension
Btw I never want to see your clubby that dirty again
