Hey guys

Very keen on buying a VTII R8 Clubbie, need opinions on the car thanks :)

1. How do these cars perform in dead stock form? What 0-100km times should I expect? HSV Quotes 5.7 Seconds (manual), is this true?

2. I'd rather get a low km clubbie obviously, but higher kms are alot cheaper, is a clubbie with around 130 000 kms a bit too much?

3. If I were to get a nice exhaust, i.e Surefo 3.5", a ORTCAI, mafless tune, how many RWKW would I be aiiming at? around 240 RWKW?

Thanks GUYS!

ive had my R8 VT 2 clubby a year now, 129000 on the clock im not impressed with it at all, very slow off the line not what i expected, thinking of selling it, not what their cracked up to be.
Had a gear changing problem with the trannie, between 2nd n 3rd, it had an internal fault, had to change it.
not sure if it was mistreated before i bought it at 110,000 but overall dude, if your leaning toward anutha model or diff car, id think twice about the R8

don't buy a vt CLubbie. They have many problems with their outdated crappy 5 litre engines. Their sound insulation is crap and they look way to old especially where their ugly rear boot garnish thats y they fixed it up in the VX models. Especially in the series 2. Dont buy an ugly outdated VT.

I've had my VT Series2 Clubby for about 8 months now and absolutey love it. After going from a VL 5.0L, I was quite inpressed with the performance. With a decent exhaust, 2 hole mod, GTS maf pipe and a mail order mafless tune I've got 220 rwkw. With an OTR and full tune it should easily go over the 230rwkw.

azbox- They are a bt sluggish in standard form(I think they only make arond 180-190 rwkw), but once you do some simple mods and get a tune it's like driving a different car. Mines done 75,000 k's and the driveline is all still as it should be. Even just get a tune done and you'll change your mind on it's performance.

gold_commodore- VT Series 2 are LS1 engines and I believe they improved the sound deadening in them as well. Mine is as quiet as our VY inside the car. Lookre a matter of taste, I chose the VT over the VX because I prefer the look of them although many people do prefer the VX. Depends what you like. As for the 5.0L, I don't think many people would agree that they were crappy.

Hi Mate,

Personally nothing wrong with the VT, i reakon black VT's look menacing, i wouldnt say they are ugly either or Holden or HSV wouldnt have sold em. A mate has a VT SS 5 litre his sounds awesome, like the 5 litre does wif rite exhaust.

hey m8 nuthin wrong with a vtII clubby good acceleration times for a heavier sort of car 3.5inch exhaust is way to big 3 inch will flow just fine get mafless tune CAI 4 into 1 extractors and 240rwkw is achiveable if you want get cam package through crow or crane and 300rwkw is on the cards. many cars which were flogged early in their life had gearbox problems which is caused when they are flat changed or tried to shift 2 fastwhich hand and foot coordination 2 be out lol mashing the syncros. my opinion get a low k/m car with full service history and a mature owner.
