Newby here. VY Clubby

Hi there everyone.

Just picked up a VY clubby with 29 thousand k's.
Thought I'd post up a pic and get involved.
Always been into motor bikes, but starting to get into cars a bit more now and don't really like anything standard.

First thing I want to do is exhaust/intake..Any ideas/suggestions?
Was thinking of maybe changing the boot spoiler to a VY senator or is this a big fashion faux pas amongst enthusiasts??

Also, the wheels. I was led to believe they are VX gts (19's) but with some searching I found that the VY R8's went to shadow chrome. Can someone please set the record straight for me. I'm not real keen on having VX wheels on VY if you get where I'm coming from.

Great HSV! Got to love the red.
I can't quite tell which rims they are, as HSV released 2 very similar. A bigger picture would give it away.
I am pretty sure the VY Clubsport had the VX GTS rims, while the VY GTS got different rims, but are very similar.
If the car came factory with those rims then its ok, but I can see where you're coming from, if the previous owner(s) had them changed.

As for the spoiler change, seeing as it is a genuine HSV, then changing it shouldn't upset HSV fans! Its only when people who have stock Holden Commodores and fit HSV kits to them (aka replica, fake, clone etc).

Wheel configurations as follows:

VX Clubsport - 18" 5 spoke "simple rounded" style rims
VX Clubsport R8 - 18" 5 spoke "indented rectangular" rims
VX GTS- 19" 5 spoke "inverted triangular" rims in silver sparkle

VY series I Clubsport - 18" 5 spoke VXR8 style "indented rectangular" rims
VY series I Clubsport R8 - 18" 5 spoke "rectangular" rims

VY series II Clubsport - 18" 5 spoke "rectangular" rims (same as above)
VY series II Clubsport R8- 19" "inverted triangular" shadow chrome wheels.
VY series II GTS - 19" chunky 5 spoke "scissor" rims in chrome shadow

You wont go back to bikes after the HSV exsperience! Just be careful what mods you do while/if the car is still covered by new car warranrty, You dont quite know every thing about the car when you first get it and little things pop there head up and can sometimes be exspensive.

I can only suggest what im happy with as far as exhaust goes

1 3/4" pacemaker 4 into 1's
pacemaker 3" s/steel hiflow cats
twin 2 1/2" Di filipo m/steel m/b system

i call it my Bark on Demand system

could you give us a clearer pic of the rims?
is it a vy1 or 2, is it an R8?
