Thought I would start a new topic.
As the completion of Round 6, HSV DT's Garth Tander is leading the championship by 38 points from Fords Craig Lowndes (remember that guy - he was once with HRT!). Next in line in 3rd position is Garth Tanders team mate, Rick Kelly. Kelly is another 7 points behind Lowndes, which is not much, considering over 300 points are available at each round!
Our other factory team, the Holden Racing Team, is not up to par this season, with Mark Skaife in 10th with 1244 points, 398 points behind Tander. I hate to have to mention this but Skaifes team mate, Todd Kelly seems to be sharing Murphs bad luck (these guys must have smashed each others mirrors off their cars once ; ) ). He is back in 18th with 892 points. A championship top 3 is highly unlikely.
In the V8 Supercars, a teams championship is run. Fords SBR team have won in recent years (not good), but the HSV DT are way out in front this year. They lead Queensland based Ford team, Triple 8 (Lowndes team) by almost 400 points! Holdens next best team is Jack Daniels Racing in 4th, not too far from Triple 888 and Fords factory team FPR. And the HRT? Currently 6th. I think it is fair to say anyone behind 5th is out for this year.
So that is the latest news regarding our team, the HSV Dealer Team. Lets hope their strong performance continues!
