Am considering upgrading my 2001 Clubby to (possibly) a new GTO. Have had a love/hate relationship with the Clubby, love to drive it but have had about every known (and a few fairly unknown) problems that HSV's can have.

Drove my first new GTO today but the drive was short and very limited by heavy traffic (damn salesman drove it more than I did), was expecting big things but got out a little disapointed (in some respects preferred my near 4yo Clubby). GTO pinged under heavy acceleration (my Clubby suffered this as well) plus my good wife detected a "clunk" from the rear end while in the rear seat (my Clubby also suffered this and was due to a diff. problem (twice!!)).

I want to be sure that I do not get a repeat of my Clubby's problems if I fork out $80K plus of my hard earned, what problems are known of the current series HSV's particularly GTO's? Am considering upgrading my 2001 Clubbie to (possibly) a new GTO. The only problem I can think of is the same one that all HSV's have.

HSV bringing out new models every six months or so, and killing the resale on the previous model.
