hey guys,
my bro has a VSII 6cyl commodore and asked for a quote for some pacemakers for his car. (stock except for an exhaust, which the guy said is a shit job)

the guy said $700!!!

then to top it off the guy said that he would replace the exhaust + the pacemakers for $1200!!!

is it just me or is this a total rip off!!???

thanks guys

- Daniel

p.s. im a falcon man and im used to a bit cheaper because of the INLINE 6 that only has one lot of headers on one side, where as the v6 has two lots of headers which would cost a bit more. but still arnt those prices a little bit steap for him? thanks

that price does sound a bit high!

basically, you're looking at around $400-$600 for the extractors and then about $500 for the rest of the system in mild steel. if you go stainless the CAT back should be around $1000.

the final quote of $1200 doesnt seem to bad but its mild steel... it doesnt really matter but stainless will give a cleaner note.

not sure why they quoted so much for the extractors...

Never heard of stainless giving a 'cleaner' note than mild but it will certaibly last an extra few years. Worth it if you intend to hold on to the car for a few years.

Mate go to another exhaust shop. I got carline mufflers to fit pacemaker tri ys and a full twin two and a half inch mandrel bent exhaust system in mild steel to my vy ss gen 111 and it cost me only $1450 fitted! after a edit I got 226.8kw at the wheels and i still have the maf fitted.

$620 was the price i paid because thy replaced both co2 sensors ( one each bank) and they cost $80 -100 each for good ones so if they are doing that then take off $150 means that they only cost $550 cheap

Was it $700 installed or just for the part?
Sounds about right installed, but you can get them for around $470 on e-bay.
I've had all kinds of trouble trying to get a set for my GTS i've had quotes from $670 upto $800 just for the extractors  The guy on e-bay said he can get them for me for $570 plus $20 delivery.
