i got my K&N air filter for xmas, i love it, the car has more bite now, much better acceleration, the car doesnt take half a second to kick off after putting the pedal down anymore!
i strongly suggest you to get one if u dont have one!

from what i have herd the main differnce is just u dont haave to worry about air getting cloged up in the filter so they do make a differnce but for the cash i donno its alot just fot a air filter

Do they fit inside the airbox without any problems or is it a bit squeezy.

well for mine i had to push 2 sides in about 1mm as they need to be really snug when inside.
So i just pushed the two side in a mm and poped the top on again.
the filter will be better compared to your old filter, and even i noticed a differnce so i dunno if its cos its a new filter or just better, but i rekon its more air flow anyways

Your factory $8 air cleaner flows more than enough air for any naturally aspirated 6 or 8. K&N or similar filters are cool to have but don't expect to gain any HP.

we have found K&N's to be the highest flowing filters on the market, and have back-to-back tested quite a few. If you dont get a positive result, you may have a flow problem that you are not aware of. Even the V6's with a K&N, a couple of easy mods, show a real good result on the dyno. And they need to be cleaned, no filter will flow dirty

K&N's are poo. hold it up to the light and you can see strait though the damn thing! How is that suppose to be a filter!?

i have run my k&n into hell and back with no problems.
went through the hay plains to adelaide and back, fighting against locus plagues, which 80% covered the filter (100% covered front of car)
good blast with airhose fixed it, and not one issue or tear to it.
as for performance, mine gave much better flow and response. i had the ss inductions put on but did not do filter. big mistake because i had capacity for greater flow but is useless when i was held back by factory filter. changed that and presto! got the gains i was looking for!

K&N filters really only do one thing & that is let more air flow through the filter into your engine. I have always used K&N filters
I see where you are coming from, hold it up to the sunlight & you can see straight through it.
Small particles of dirt that don't stick to the oil on the gauze will go directly into your engine & do whatever it wants.
I check & clean my throttle body every 5,000kms to see whats is being left behind from the incoming air from the filter.
Also a full test has been done on the stock holden paper filters compared to the K&n ones. Whilst the K&N's let more air through, they let alot more dirt through aswell. The paper filters are very effective at what they do filtering the air.
Seems weird doesn't it?
