what type of holden com to buy ? ?

what type of holden would you reckomend a red p plater to purchase, i like the berlina but would like to put a hsv kit on it, though i wouldn't like to drive around and get apsolutly thrashed i have a budget of about $14-15k for the car and $2-3k for mods in time ne ideas ? 8) :twisted:

i bought my 5lt VT Calais for 19k...

for that you could buy a sweet VN-VS commy, a HSV if you can find one, or a stock VT. i probabaly wouldnt recommend a VT for you unless you had some more $$$ to spend on go-fast material and looks 8)

yeh i really prefer the look of the vt though how much do u think would need to be spent on go fast bitZ and to get the HSV kit ?

umm depends what model you want and where you want your kit from etc.

kit will generally set you back from $1,000-$2,000 unsprayed (i think :s )

umm the easy go fast bits that everyone gets are extractors, full exhaust, and a K&N filter.

the K&N filter will set you back $100-$150 and thats for the panel style that fits into the airbox (prefered) but they (mine did...) came with a 1,500,000km warranty. the extractors will be about $600 and for the rest of the exhaust (CAT back section) will be about $500.

yeh i was planning on the K&N filter, i'm not soo big on a turbo i like the idea of an exauhst and i was think on geting anything other than a turbo or nos to make my car get a bit more, i don't want to pull up at lights and get mauled be every car but i dont want the best car on the road. how many kilawatts does the vt put out stock ? ?

with the cash you have, i dont think you would be able to get a VT HSV (still around 30grand these days...)

VT 5.0 V8 - 179kw
VT 5.0 HSV option V8 - 195kw

thats for the series I, genIIIs are more expensive and have more power, they came in the series II :)

edit: you cant drive a genIII on your Ps in vic thats for sure, but for interests sake the genIII in the VT commys is 220kw in stock form :)
