well were do i start , after changing the liffters and push rods rockers and all the jazz, the noise i had and thought had gone is still there but now i think it is the exhaust . i jacked the car up and found a grinder mark in the x-tractors and a tiny hole, could this be the cause of the tapping noise. could someone please help.

Good starting point now that you say it could be the extractors hmmm check it out.... If there is a grinding mark and small hole then thats already a dead give away that there could of been a past problem that has come back to haut you...

sure the hole are not for the oxygen sensors?
