Hi all. New to group - Have a VS Clubsport series 2 1997.
185 motor 5 speed 70000 kms
extractors and exhaust change from liverpool exhausts.
other than that stock
Seems v sluggish in 1st and 2nd - my auto vs acclaim is quicker off the mark !!
Could be my lack of shifting experience ...
someone suggested changing the diff ratio to 3.46 ... thoughts -
I was told a place in rydalmere does it for $1000
Thanks All

that is the gear i was thinking about putting in mine.
it gets a better launch and it doesnt stuff your economy up too much.
i think you would be able to find a place that will do it cheaper then that.
call around and find the best price

Should be able to get it cheaper than $1000. That would usually be a new LSD and gear swap. For just the gears, should be more like $400-500.

I would go the 3.7's or the 3.9's
I'm going to put one of these in mine sometime soon.

is that how much the job really costs?!? geez! i didnt think it would be that much? igot a great price to do the rear end on my VR and it was $650!! all up!
The gears were fine and all, but i got them cheap coz they were a little noisey at cruise speed. Sounds tough though, passengers think i have a dog box in it. haha
