Fuel Consumption

I'm interested to hear views on fuel consumption and mileage.

I drive a Clubsport VT Series 11 everyday, most of this is city driving and my mileage has averaged around the 18 litres per 100km's. I am aware of all the variables associated with fuel consumption and while this figure goes up and down, on average it remains much the same.

I have had the car checked at my Holden dealer and they cannot find anything which might indicate a problem.

Has anyone had a similar problem ?

that sounds about right for a GENIII
around the city consumption has been recorded as high as 20L/100km (with a bit of 'spirited' driving)

The Ute averages 18 - 19 ltrs per 100 whilst cruzing around town... on a trip to the bush it drops to around 10's

geee, my 5lt VT gets on average 7-9l/100kms on the highway and around 12-15l/100kms in town :)

Same my CV8 which has 251RWKW Ive managed to get it between 7 to 8 cruising to Queensland sitting on 100km/h inland but once I hit towns or the big smoke I was averaging around the 18 to 20 litres per hundred.
The is with me behind the wheel offcourse, if it wouldn’t be for the launch of the lights every time I think 15 to 18 is maybe more the ball park figure these cars tend to use around town..

on the freeway i average 10 ltrs/ 100km @ 120km/h

in the city it goes up around 20 l/100km

i was reading theses the other day and have concluded you must drive mostly down hill with the wind behind you with the car in neutral, trip to batemans bay this morning averaged 11.8 on fwy from pheasants nest in 6th gear 125 kph by the time i went over the clyde mountains into Batemans Bay was showing average 18.5 and 114.8 kph, what you boi's doing drive em! In my VX Clubsport I have never seen my average above 15.7l/100km around town and thats with moderate doses of spirited driving. On the hwy 10L/100km. The joys of driving in Perth! Im sure it would be higher average around the streets of Sydney.
