which would you take, the 285kw R8 or the 300kw GTS?

the GTS is a fair bit more than the R8 but do you think you really get the extra 15K worth of extras on the GTS?

i dont know if the R8 has a different kit to the GTS or not but i feel that the R8 looks sleeker.

just my opinion.

The R8. Without wanting to appear bais (because I have an R8 myself), but I would spend the leftover $15k on the R8 so it would totally destroy the GTS.

R8
the GTS is good, but the extra bit that u get hardly warrents $15000.
adjustable suspension plus a small engine upgrade can be had for that, and may just be enough to beat the GTS

well if you got enough ching for the big GTS, you'll just get some extra street cred the R8 don't. You'll also get bigger brakes to handle the extra power. the steering will also be way better than the R8's and you get a tyre pressure monitoring system.
So all up, I'd go for the R8 for a day to day car because it is more drivable compared to the GTS which is more of a hard core racer with street cred.

If you can afford the GTS you can probably afford any upgrades that you would have done to the r8 anyway! The only reason youd even be talking about this is if you couldnt afford the GTS but secretly wanted one and were trying to console youeself by running the GTS down. I would love to be able to own either car as they both rock! I also think theGTS is probably a lot more than just bigger brakes and a bit more power.

Apparently there was a couple of GTS coupes for sale. Price were around the 55K mark. Damn cheap. Must of had a lot of km's but I think prices have dropped a lot generally anyway.
I'll probably go the GTS if it was only 10K more than R8.
GTS looks hot.

To be honest if i was spending the big dollars like that in the first place i'd shell out the extra bickies on the BIG GUN.No matter what mods are done to the R8 it's still not a GTS!! 8)

I'd go the R8, save an extra 5k and make it twin turbo with a HPF twin turbo kit. If I actually had that much money to kill.

remember the GTS is a LS6, not an LS1, and can be easily tuned to 350kw, it features high flow cam and heads (and other cool stuff), so if i had the money, its the GTS. But if i was on a budget (very similiar to the one im on now), i would buy a BASE model commy and tune the sucker to flog the GTS. I reckon you would be in front by 50m, and 20 grand+ by the time you were finished with it. Have run a few GTS's, and shown them all the back of our CV8 (base model). remember it all comes down to personal taste (money???) some people want to buy a HSV, and dont want to modify it (what a crime).

cheers
