most likely the same 285kw in the VY. the reason- the GenIV for the VE. there is a slight possibility of a small power increase, maybe 290-295 but its is unlikely

I beleive the headlights and indicators are slightly differant and indicaters either have two sections or a line through them. VE is said to be wider and longer and rumoured to be styled along the lines of the Vectra, I for one hope not but of it is my VY will hold its value better. HOLDEN take note if I want european styling I'll buy BMW or something, I don't want a HSV that looks like a camry, vectra or magna

Guys please trust me the new VE will look hot The new Vectra is a total flop in Europe and you will see changes very soon in that model range. The VE auto range will be a breath of fresh air different from what we have been use to...

the VZ will be a complete facelift of the current platform (VT-VY).
it will be intensively restyled (apparantly) but will retain current dimensions to a large degree

VZ is the final revision of the VT platform.
VE will be the all-new Commodore and is to released in 2006

So what do you think i should do, buy the new VZ, or wait for the VE.
I have put in an order for the VZ, i told the dealer i want the first one, Number 1 made, it would be something special.
I was really hoping it would have the new Gen 4 engine, but doesn't matter, i just love the shape, and the style.
The maloo sure stands out on its own, much more than the Fords i think.

yeah you know i meant that, it is the final variation of that platform.
yes, wait for the VE for the GenIV, it will be sooo much better.
unless you want to try out the new holden V6, it will be good, 200kw in standard form, massive tuning capabilities.......

and i agree, the maloo would be the biggest stand out in the HSV model range.

love the twin exit exhausts :)

the engine that is produced in Canada has 190kw in standard form.
there is still no word on the figure for the commodore, but it is likely to be the same.
however, you never know..

PWR is working on a supercharger for the 5.7ltr that will eventually be available on HSV"s probably GTS first, whether its done for the VZ is anyones guess

Seeing as how it is so close to VZ production so if u order a car now u will end up with a VZ anyway. It is getting new headlights, taillights, side decor on the indicators and Gen IV 6.0 Ltr

PWR is working on a supercharger for the 5.7ltr that will eventually be available on HSV"s probably GTS first, whether its done for the VZ is anyones guessif thats the case, then rumors of the current VYII GTS being the last with a genIII may change. if you read the lastest issue of Motor, they say that with the VZ power increases for the models with increase to a possible 300kw. this means that unless they put more into the GTS still, or supercharge it, it wont be a model in the VZ range.

have to wait to find out i guess!

I think you'll find the VZ HSV (Holden's range has just been released) will cop a revised body kit and the base motor will go to 300KW's (still Gen 111 though).

The limited edition GTS will get a small increase to probably 320Kw's, but will be special order only.

Holden has taken the Gen111 to 250Kw's for the SS, so to maintan the difference to HSV, expect the magic 300. It won't be the hand built (and bloody expensive) Calllaway C4B found in the GTS, but just a modified version of the current 285Kw. Probably with a mild exhaust upgrade and the larger 85mm GTO throttle body. Possibly a little incrase in rev limit as well. The 285 already makes the same torque as the C4B 300 (520Nm), but the GTS engine makes it's extra 15 kw's with the extended rev limit over the 285.

I hear 20 inch wheels may be an option on R8's and built in DVD player will be standard on Senator.

For my money, I'd by a run out VY11 Clubby. I got a letter in the mail from my local Holden dealer offering a new VY11 Clubby drive away with full insurance and rego for 2 years and at the end of the term they take it back and give you a new one, all for $299.00 a week.

Pity I only bought my VY in January, so it's no use to me...

Now I know that's big dollars for some guys and peanuts for others. But as someone who's owned 4 HSV's and turns their cars over regularly, this is a sensational deal.

For a young bloke on good money who would normally struggle with insurance on one of these babies, it's a sensational offer. I'm over 35 and still pay $3k to insure my Clubby.

$299.00 a week for a new HSV is a bargain in my view....

The article says that it will initially be offered as an HSV endorsed upgrade for the coupe 4 before becoming available across the holden V8 range. It will also be offered as a retro-fit for earlier model GenIII engined cars. It has been developed for HSV by PWR (race team).

the GenIV is a rumour at the moment, but it seems most likely. the issue is that it is rumoured for use in the Coupes, no word on the other models yet.
