false
the R8 is simply a model with better features.
they would be- Rims, brakes, rubber interior trim, and some other small things.
there is no power difference

go look at the vt clubsport that has 195 kw and the r 8 with 250
VT had two series, Series 1 featured the last of the Holden Cast Iron V8's producing 195kw in 5litre form and 220kw in 5.7ltr form. There was Manta Clubsport, and Senator available in 195kw and GTS in 220kw. However Senator could be upgraded to 220kw. Further one could have HRT Optimised version of the 220kw engine for an extra $10,000. This apparently pushed power figures over 230kw and screwed out around 510Nm of torque.
Series 2 saw the introduction of the Gen III Chev all Alloy V8 producing a single power figure of 250kw across the HSV range, including Clubsport, Clubsport R8, Senator, Grange and SV99. The GTS was intruduced some months after the Series 2 initial release and featured the 300kw Caloway tuned Gen III. The VT GTS Series II also feature harrop brakes and addtional control arms in the rear suspension.

In order:
1. The following list is exactly what the VT2 R8 has over the Clubsport:
- HSV Performance Suspension for ultimate handling response and roadholding includes Performance rated springs, dampers and anti-roll bars
- HSV 27mm front anti-roll bar, 16mm rear anti-roll bar
- HSV Performance rated semi-trailing arm inboard bushes
- HSV Performance Brake system with larger 330 X 32mm ventilated front discs, 315 X 18mm ventilated rear discs, upgraded pads - HSV embossed front callipers
- HSV Performance 5 spoke 18 X 8 inch alloy wheels in Thunderbird Silver
- HSV specification premium Bridgestone 235/40ZR18 SO2 directional tyres
- HSV wraparound Performance Coulson seats trimmed in dark Florence/Quartz fabric and colour coded
- HSV R8 identification
Find all the VT2 Clubsport & R8 info here (http://www.hsv.com.au/cars/clubsport/clubr899.htm)
That should point you in the right direction.
2. Heaps. Depends on how much you want to spend and how much you like your warranty.
3. Change the headers for better ones (eg - pacemakers) and then run a twin 2.5" to the rear. Speak to a professional / performance exhaust shop and they will tell you.
4. What the book says
5. Haven't seen one for purchase........they can be made however.
On reading the exact difference between the Club and R8, I easily justified the extra $$$ that the yard was asking for the R8 when I purchased.
