Are any of them good?

I'm with RAC. Have always had my cars through them. Never had any dramas with claims and they're reasonably priced. No one else would insure my Senator 5000i for under $3K p/a

3000 a bit hard I must be lucky coz its a Holden not HSV, Try (Just Car Insurance). Ive had luck with this company before but being a HSV Im sure insurance will be a killer, no matter which company you chose.

$3K through RACV? ouch!
Ring as many places as you can, but I don't think its going to get much cheaper...
RAC has got my Senator 5000i insured for $20K with all mods listed for $1100 a year... GIO and Allianz wouldnt touch it

The prices seem a bit steep. I pay $1700 full comp agreed valued and im only 24 for my GTS. Best thing as mentioned is to shop around or even find a insurance broker, who do all the work for you and they cost minimal and save you $$$ as anotehr option

At 41 unless you have a shocker of a record you should be able to get good insurance, however your post code can be an issue too. I'm with NRMA, am 29 and it coasts me just over a $1000 per year. Full 65% and multi policy discount.

Rating 1, no accidednts, no fines, all other quotes over the 1000 mark, i thought $850 was resonable, this is a HSV after all.
My other car is a VX Calais, V8 and i pay $450.00,
See ya

Hah.. I got quoted $2,200 through just cars and I had to have a GPS tracking system installed too (they are like $1k to install and then you have to pay for monitoring too!).
I ended up going through shannons, they were really helpful and costs me $1280 a year (Im 25 with good history).
RAC quoted me $850 for a maloo, but they wanted to inspect the WGR before insuring it. With the stroker motor and other goodies I doubt they would have given me anything better than shannons anyway.

Sounds like Shannons is the place to ring for insurance quotes....

I thought id would have a quick look around as my insurance is due next week. RACV renewal was $1700, i called CGU and they have quoted me $1060 Full Comp, saving of $700. Im wrapped.

Shannons were not interested in me, they wanted me to do defensive driving courses and ben in a car club.
AAMI put me onto just cars (which is a subsidary anyway). When i put the deposit down on the car the insurer at the dealership quoted me $6000, i dont know how he managed to come up with such a rediculous figure.
I got onto NRMA and RACQ who were reasonable, but i ended up deciding on Just Cars.
$1270 for a 23 yr old with rating one. $1700 excess $1400 theft excess. In the end i was happy as when i was quoted on my VN SS a few years back $3000 for comprehensive insurance. It was unrealistic.

My last car was a 2004 VYII Maloo and I was paying $770 in Townsville

I would definitely shop around. I'm with Suncorp Metway. I managed a good deal because I have other policies with them. Don't forget the price will also vary if you're borrowing money which is secured or unsecured.
