Hi Everyone,
I have just purchased a 2nd hand VX Berlina :D and i am looking for a Clubsport body kit. Does anyone know of any places that can suppply them or how much i should be looking at spending?

I have done some searching and found 1 place called Alkon Body Styling. They can supply the HSV VX Clubsport kit for $1650 Inc GST including front/rear bumbers, side skirts and fog lamps. Does this sound like a good price? Thats not fitted or painted by the way which i dont mind as a friend can do this for me.

I am just about to purchas this kit the only problem :( is that i am looking for something that is a little unique and the above kit is pretty much standard.

Thanks for any suggestions in advanced!!!

There's heaps of places around that can do the VX Clubby kits now. I've heard Fabtech do them reasonably cheap and are decent quality kits. No idea on pricing though. Or else Fibremaster's kits are top notch too.

If you want something unique, don't go with the Clubsport kit. Its on everything these days..including earlier models!

Try either the Concept2Reality VX kit (www.c2r.com.au)
or do a conversion similar to the VY...maybe an SSV front bar or something.

Sorry to break the news, but the C2R bodykit won't fit on your Berlina. I drive a Calais and reaaalllly wanted the C2R bodykit, but after ringing a few people, it's not going to work, unless you change your headlights over, and a few other things. It is a very nice bodykit though.

In mu opion I wouldnt buy any of those aftermarket kits. They are crap and I am speaking from experience. Fiberglass is way to stiff for body kits. Holden and HSV kits are made from injection moulded plastic which will flex. Fiberglass kits will chip crack and break so much easier. I have a fiberglass VT clubsport kit on and the moment and it is shit. I am replacing it with a GENINUN HSV KIT. It is a little bit more expensive to but but there is money to be saved on the labour required to paint and fit the real kits.

Fibreglass kits need to be prefitted and then spray puttied filled sanded and they sprayed and refitted. The labour cost are 3 times that of a real kit to spray and fit. I am telling you as it is. I have had both fitted and would never buy a fibreglass kit ever again.

I can put you in touch with a holden parts rep that will sell you geninun HSV kits if you want

Well firstly a big THANKS to everyone for their opinions. In the end i did decide to purchase the genuine HSV kit. My friend has finished spraying it and it looks AWSEOME!!!!! :P

I have a couple of problems  , firstly the panel beater has said that he cant find the wiring for the front fog lights. I have spoken to another body kit place and holden and both have assured me that the wires for the fog lamps should be there for my VX Berlina.

Does anyone know exactly where this wiring is and what colours the wires are??? We have found 1 wire on the lhs however this looks like its for another horn and has the exact same clips as the wires that go to the horn on the rhs.

I spoke to a guy at HSV and he seems to think that the wiring is there but its behind the dash board and you have to run the wires to the fog lamps yourself. Does anyone know if this is true???

Finally does anyone know if the VX Berlina has a place for the fog lamp swtich on the dash? How hard is it to pull the dash off to install this switch??? Does anyone know where the wires are for the switch and what colour they are suppose to be????

Once again THANKS in advance for any replys.

Cheers

ive got a VT berlina, and it doesnt have the wiring for the lights, it is p!$$ easy to take the dash facia off, remove the panel at the bottom (window switch & aropund the trans shifter) it just pulls up, undo the to screws from the ashtray area, remove the radio (this is a must) unscrew the 2 screws from in front of the dash (gauges) drop the steering wheel and extend, and it should come straight out! good luck with the wiring thou!

Gday All,
I allmost have the whole car sorted out!!!! I have the body kit as i you guys all ready know. I took the car to holden who told me that it doesnt have the wiring so they are going to do it for me for about $80.

All i need now is the HSV badge for the rear bumber and the HSV badge for the bonnet. Can you believe that the HSV Kit didnt come with any badges!!!! And get this they give you everything for the fog lamps except the realy. I suppose they assume that the relay is all ready in the car or something.

Any ways i rang HSV for the badges and they told me that i was dreamin if i wanted to get badges for a non genuine HSV. So now i am looking for anyone that knows where i could get these badges from.

Any ideas?????

Thanks Again

we were going to get a factory fitted SS kit on our VY berlina but the front didnt match up. we were going to have to get new front lights and they were going to cost a fortune so we left it stock :(
