Hey all, im a little new to this. Over the Spring Break in April, i will be coming to Australia to buy a GTO, GTS, or possibly a monaro. i am not sure what to get.
I like the name of the GTO, but theres only 285kW
the GTS300 has more power, andis the car from NFS HP2
the Monaro is the foirst Holden to break the 100k barrier, and i think has more power than the GTS
I like the Grange for its DVD screens, and its 12 speaker stereo!! i think im gonna get this one for my everyday car, i need a "sunday morning ride" and "carshow" car

The Monaro is actually more of the base model of all the coupes (if you will). The Monaro comes from Holden, while the other cars you've listed are from HSV.
It doesn't cost anywhere near 100K. The GTS is up around $90K and thats as expensive as they get at the moment. The GTS is the flagship of the performance cars. If you've got the money, its definately a step ahead of the GTO.
The Grange is based on the Statesman and Caprice from Holden and is somewhat luxury/performance orientated.
All I could suggest is that you're doing things at the wrong time as the Aussie dollar is pretty strong against the US dollar. A year or so ago, you would have got it at almost half price!

yea i know, this summer actually the AU dollar was 1.7 that of the US dollar!! as of January it was 1.2 fo the USD
i am looking into a GTS, its the one i want, but i can sure settle for a gto.
i am in the middle of an enquiry about a red GTO at Eagers in Newstead. i am also looking into a Monaro for sale that i found yesterday
i will be happy with any of these three cars and i hope i can get one soon enough!

I think that the new series 3 monaro is a great car to get. Not only dose it look like a dream from the outside, it drives like nothing you have ever driven before. I haven't driven the others so I cant comment on their handling.

i love the way the car looks, and both my girlfriend AND her father both say that i should get this car, so i am working on it!!!
i hope to get this car, is what i have been loking for black ext. red hot int. manual
i am quite surprised aobut how much i no about the Holden Co. sorry bout the 100k thing, i read that in some documentary. but there is a Monaro in the HSV video posted under general discussion(i dont kno if im allowed to say the name of the website) its named Cool HSV videos, and te name of the Video is "TG video" its 9 minutes long and about 7 min into it, it shows a Monaro that has the black out lights 448 horsepower (~330 kW) WHAT KIND OF MONARO IS THAT??

As the owner of a GTS Coupe (Series 2) i would recommend if you can find one grab it.
it is a far more refined car to drive and the Calloway V8 is smooth as silk, i do take the opportunity to give it a good work over and it has never let me down.
Cheers

Last year my dealer in Melbourne quoted me just over 100K and then he said that I will have to pay luxury car tax which will be around the 10K mark could he be right?
Is 98K before all the stamp duty and blablabla or is that really drive away, did you pay some kind of luxury car tax on 98K?
By the way can you send me pics of the beast so that I can upload them in the Thee Garage area...
