Wakeboard???

Has anyone been to a Wakeboard comp before???
Is this a new sport? Or has it been around for a while?
Can anyone explain this sport to us all HSV seam to be interested in the Wakeboard Tour this year...

I've never been to a comp, but the sport has been around for a few years now.

Similar to water skiing, but you ride a fairly short board (under 2') and actually utilise the wake from the boat to get more speed/air etc.
