Mate definitely not normal if their knocking, however i dont think it would be the shock itself its making a knocking sound?

This model was known for the upper strut mount failing, as mine did. Try this, with the car off and on flat ground, somewhere quiet, go to the side of the car with the knocking strut, and push up and down on the car see if theres any scraping/knocking sounds, i know when i did this i could hear a scraping sound coming from the top of the shock, and sure enough ended up being the upper strut mount which holden replaced under warranty.

yeah bud have the upper strut top bearing done when i put lowered springs in , jsut seems too be when i go over a speed hump like the strut runs out of stroke , thats what it feels like its going in too holden when i get back from work

could be that the mrc is speed dependant aswell so when u are going slower it is softer, i had a simular thing when i went over speed bumps extremely slow was ok but just a little faster and when the front wheel got over the hump and the shocks compressed it felt like the engine plate hit the top of the hump and i put it to that the mrc was really soft from going slow that it dosnt control the bump good enough, but then if i put it in track mode it was fine because it is stiffer and didnt alow it to travel as far to hit the hump, and now that ur lower with the springs could just be that...

I have had some "warranty work" done on the front of my GTS a few linkage parts, front bar, tyres, then the front MRC was replaced
A few weeks after and four returns to HSV, yesterday I noticed in place of an empty MRC being displayed (replaced) I had
no reading. When empty the shock still moves on the screen, so I though the cable had not been clipped
back in. When I took the wheel off I could see the small linkage had come out, it connects to the MRC movement sensor
so the MRC can adjust the charge as you hit any bumps.
If you look to the right of the main sway bar linkage or the large silver vertical rod, it is parallel and to the lower right.'

My question, has anyone had this come out before? and will is stay put once pressed back in the small ball joint?
Cheers Andrew

Looks like the photo paste is not going to work unless I now sign up to a monthly subscription!

I had 2009 GTS. Knocking sound when I went over speed humps or major road changes at speed. It turned out the shocks were leaking. Replaced them and all was good again.
