Looks like Ford has taken up the challenge from GM's 570hp Camaro for the World's most powerful Production V8 title. In mid 2012 Ford will release its new Shelby Mustang GT500 with its 650hp supercharged 5.8 litre. This would certainly make a good addition in an FPV, especially for an HO!

Unfortuanely the new Shelby Mustang isnt coming here, will be priced at approx US$50k

was the camaro ever the most powerful, what about the ls9 in the ZR1 corvette, its about 635hp from memory, i know its still less than the 650hp f$#d are proposing

The Mustang and Camaro fit in the same category as passenger cars (ie: more than 2 occupants) where as the Corvette is a 2 seat Coupe which has its own category amongst 2 seat "supercars". But yes good pick up and it looks like the Mustang pips the Vette's LS9 power too

can anyone try and describe the hair of the kid in that video??? wtf is that??

oh im sorry, i got distracted off the thread...
so 650hp... thats still about 2000 factory hp short of what would ever convince me to think for half a second about buying a ford.

"especially for an HO!"
might be a bit dumb but... whats that mean?

Handling Option - GTHO = Grand Touring Handling Option.

Like iCat said,
I actually didnt think they'd be a car person in Australia who wouldn't know that.
Just nicknames for it, "HO", "O", Hoey" or in the case of the 3rd model and most known of the "HO" series "shaker"

In the near future we will be owning a relatively powerful car................however, it would take a VERY powerful argument to go against the LS9........who would like to see that in an HSV?
Cheers, Pickles.

meh, i have very little knowledge in things that were around 30 or so years before i was born....
if gtho had been mentioned in the post prior to the use of HO i might have clicked on...
but being gt500 i didnt connect the dots....

akanives, I may not have mentioned "GTHO" but it is common knowledge even outside Ford circles that Ford fans have wanted a GTHO for many years, and since the forming of FPV there has been more speculation regarding its potential release.

But I did think that mentioning FPV and HO close together when talking about high performance Fords that it would be enough to "connect the dots" as a GT-HO. I'm sure Ford fans would understand Group A without mentioning SS

nice map bosscocky, although these days i believe the island is somewhat extinct or close to it..... or is it stil there but they've just removed the scenery??
