Hi all, I have a new E3 GTS on order.
Once the deal was done, you all know what happens next, they wheel out the attractive female to try and add on the extras, paint & leather protection, window tinting, extra warranty etc.

Anyway, I wasn't having any of it. But I found a link on the forum a while ago where someone mention a product called Permanon. So I did some research and there is a company in Sydney that use it as well as another called Gtechniq.
http://www.ozicozi.com.au/surfacetech/

After doing some research and talking to the guys from surfacetech it seems like a very good product.
I am considering getting the treatment done and also the clear film over the front bumper of the car for stone protection.

Has anyone had any experience with these products, I'm trying to get some unbiased feedback?

Two different items here?..One is a sort of "3M" "Film" over your bumper...the other is a paint "treatment"?
Whether you do the bumper "film" is up to you....you could probably do the wheel arches & edges of the side skirts etc as well....HSV did some models from new....Our VZ GTO had some, as did our VN Group A.
BUT, paint "treatment"....don't bother with it.....a TOTAL waste of your hard earned dollars. I've NEVER seen one that works, when it has to....such as when a bird craps on your car on a hot day......I've NEVER seen one that will stop paint damage in that scenario....ya better off saving ya dollars, & keeping your car well polished, & cleaning any crap off, immediately.
Cheers, Pickles.

You will save plenty of coin by NOT taking the dealer offered protection gear - go aftermarket and save your coin for mods!

cheers

Hey, I'm as sceptical as you guys.

I've never taken the dealers products as I've always considered them to be over priced rubbish.

This is totally after market products.

From the videos below and the info I can find, these look like good products and save time and elbow grease.

I was hoping to find some one that had use them so I can get some honest feedback.

The guys at surfacetech recommend the following procedure for a new car;
1. they completely de-wax the car using alcohol.
2. they remove any swirl marks the dealer may have caused during pre-delivery.
3. they then apply the Gtechniq solution to the car.
4. then install the clear adhesive to the bumper
5. finally buy a bottle of permanon to continue to treat the car once a month.

I have always used products like Maguires for the best results to date.

Mate at work has the ozicozi on his ve maloo (black) and it is magic stuff totally invisible and works well, the only drawback is it is crap on a light coloured vehicle, dirt sticks to the edge of the film and the car looks like it has been attacked with a pencil,

Desmo....Ya wanna go the Ozicozi....if you want that type of protection, well then go for it....it's got a good reputation....that is, if you like the look of it....you could also consider a car bra.....BUT, as far as that paint "protection" is concerned....ask them if they will "GUARANTEE" that if your car is parked somewhere on a hot day & a bird craps on your car, that their "protection" will absolutely 100% prevent ANY damage to the paint.....ie will not leave ANY marks at all.
Cheers, Pickles.
