Hi all,

I'm new to this forum, and am looking at trading in my 2005 BMW 530i M Sport for a brand new HSV E3 GTS.

Do you guys think it's worth going for a 2011 build, or saving approx $3k - $4k for a 2010 run-out model?

I'm eye-balling a 2010 GTS (demo car with 5km's on the clock) which already has the W427 6-pot BIG BRAKE upgrade, and full size 20" spare.

OR, I can go for a brand new 2011 for approx $4K more, but doesn't have the big brake option, but will be a new car coming off the HSV line in mid April.

It'll be a fully maintained novated lease.

Thoughts / opinions?

Thanks in advance :)

P.S: Hoping to procure a GTS by the 20th April, just in time for the family Easter trip up to NSW ;)

I'd reckon if you went the '10 model DEMO it should be more than $3 - $4 k off the price of an "off the line" '11 model.

Dude, If a novated lease then get the latest with the works???No contest. You have the option of what you want through the lease quotations. Tell them what you want and get them to quote. Remember the pricing is GST free so go for gold I say.

May mean a slightly higher residual but at least with the lot you would get a better return if you choose to sell.

. . . . I understand the rebate from Holden that is available to dealers on the 2010 GTS is $7500 (over and above other dealer discounts) . . . get that and it may help you make your decision

. . . get the rrp in writing and double check it. . . then take off $13700.00 and you will be at a good starting point!!

Thanks, guys.

The 2010 GTS (DEMO) is goin for $81,990 Drive-Away. It has the big brakes and 20" spare, and only 5km's on the clock.

I'm not familiar with pricing on the GTS. Is this a good deal?

BTW, I'm also asking for a sunroof.

I think $81K is way too much for a 2010. The brakes a re a $6K option, though.
I'd offer $75K drive away and then walk... keep walking, and see if they call you back. Take your lease discounts from there.

@E34ME, don't get carried away thinking you're getting the GST discount on a novated lease, you'll get the maximum discount, for sure, but it's only around $5,800. The luxury car tax smashes the discount, maxing it out at this figure even if you bought a Bentley.
You still end up paying GST on the car, just at the depreciated value when your lease runs out.

I'm sure it will get knipped in the bud if it happens on a regular basis, this kind of reply from City Holden is better off being a 'PM' IMO.

Maybe City Holden will need to start chipping in as a sponsor considering the advertising their getting.

PPPffffttt....please. Weren't you paying attention months ago?I got $10K off the Whale as a demo and they hadn't even registered it as a demo when we walked in. All it meant was we didn't get the paper work till the demo period was over but still drove the ride home that day.
And Audi....could be onto something there. I'm sure any mug could pick the phone up. This is a forum for discussion...right or wrong......not ambulance chasing. Would rather he spat out his deal for one and all to see and comment on. Hell....could end up flogging a heap if the deal is good.

And Youngm....I paid $75 for the Whale...'09 (only three left in Vic after mine) with 10 km on the clock......do the math bud.....they go for $95+ so at $81,990 you'd wanna lube up 'coz that's really sticking it up your Kyber. Plus....we traded our Caprice for $20K leaving us with a hand over of $50K drive off the lot for a $95K ride.

Stewie, i don't know what you mean? He says the difference the dealer is quoting is only 3 - 4k between models. I'm saying the difference should be more.

Aren't you paying attention NOW :p
