G'day guys,
I just got my first HSV! yes little excited. Got a GTS MY09.5. Here's my problem; The white logo on the red callipers has faded or been cleaned with a steel wool pad or some acid based cleaner. The white has faded and in places is almost non existent. The car has only done 30K so it cannot be normal wear and tear.
How can I re do the paint? I would imagine it would need to be a heat resistant type of paint and a steady hand!
Or is there a decal from HSV that is used to apply the logo on in the first place??
Yes I know its a bit vain but its my first born HSV and we tend to be a bit overprotective of our first born don't we?

Any help or advice would be great.

Regards
Scotty

Thanks everyone for your help. Ordered some new decals today from ron via flea bay! He is a very helpfull chap. I will give the calipers a lick of heat proof paint and then some clear coat (heat proof too) and on with the new decals. I love to tinker and this will keep me busy.

Well I spent the best part of the weekend taking off each wheel and cleaning/sanding up each caliper. Then gave each one a good lick of heat proof caliper red topped off with some heat proof clear. They look dead sexy, now waiting for the new stickers from Ron to show up tomorrow then she will look all new again!!
Sonthe lesson here is never use a so called wheel cleaner to remove brake dust, it will just screw everything else up. Good old elbow grease is all that's needed.

I would have thought, it would be a good idea too spray a coat of heat proof clear after putting stickers on, that way the stickers are protected as well.
Brakes look great by the way!

Yeh I intend to do that this weekend, I have some heat proof clear coat to go over the top.
As long as the red doesn't bleed:eek:

The paint was purchased from "super creep" a 3M production. Wax and grease remover followed by caliper red and topped with clear. All by 3M and heat proof, about $13 bucks a can.
Happy camper i am!

"Mate i justsome from Ebay, theyu are silver in colour. i will post some pics when i get a chance to get them on.
when you ask a question of the seller tell him the sizes of of the stickers, as most models are different. Ron was his name. you can call him 0412 432 752 0412 432 752"

I have tried to call him a few times, but it just says that he will get an sms message after the tone, but has not replied back. I hate when that happens. Anyway if anyone has his Ebay name I might try and contact him through there.
Thanks guys
