Hey all, I'm currently on the look put for an e series maloo.

Now I've seen quite a few on carsales but I am probably going to get one from a dealer as they seem to have more choice.. Especially being in WA.

Does anyone have any tips in buying from dealers, as in getting the best price etc?
Say if a dealer had a new one advertised for 65k, what's the lowest I could expect to get it for?

And would it be along the lines for used ones too?

Cheers in advanced

My advice would be to low ball for cash..

Then once you get said figure mention you have trade in to get optimum for it and not there mark up price...

Then haggle with the finance and make sure you get it down to around 9%apr...

they always try to get it back some how also dont buy any of that paint protection or extended warranty rubbish.

A seven year or 200K extended warranty can save you heaps - the computers alone can set you back big dollars when they start to run amok. Expect to pay about $2200 for the premium warranty. Did it for the Grange and came out on top.

ahh yeah fair enough..

just got another question.
it seems that most of the maloos, e1,e2 and the e3 are priced relatively similar..
dealer used e1s advertised for 58k
new e2s for 61k
and new e3s for 65k?

is it worth just lashing out and getting the E3?

or are there better deals to be found for the older models?

What you gotta remember is the stamp duty there is none on new...

2 hand will sting you at over $50kplus...!!

If you can afford it go new is my advice...

Make sure you get a 6.2l not one of the early e series car with the 6l.

My experience is get what you want at the time, I know it,s a bit more, but the enjoyment you get soon wipes away that hip pocket nerve. We've all been there , I wish I had got such and such in the first place....hahaha.

Yeah I'll only be getting ls3 :)

And I know what you mean.. But stretching budget from ve ss to a maloo is already pretty big haha
