Was going to put this in the rant section but i think it deserves it's own thread.

Just picked up my car from the panel shop, and i am ****ing ropable, the job the ****wits did is so amaturish i doubt whoever did the job has done one of these before.

Taking it back in hte morning as i needed the car tonight.

The owner must be too busy, he didn't seem too fussed about it, i look over it my self tomorrow. I got home and found a dint in my bonnet that was not there before, there is also paint dust all over both front seats.

The engine bay is covered in dust and it looks like they did a shit job at washing it and then buffed it ****ing clowns!!!!!!! I'm going to tear this bloke a new one tomorrow morning!!!!!

I only went to this dumb cunt because ammi said he had done lots of hsv's ****wit!!!!!

I'm starting to doubt whether the bar is genuine or not, how do i tell?

Very average to say the least mate. But why did you pick it up to begin with??

With regards to the front bar, is it plastic or fibreglass? Take the number plate off, there should be HSV cast in to the plastic.

I picked it up because my wife needed it to transport our baby to the Dr's.

I told the guy i would take it and return it tomorrow. but when i got it home i just found more and more poor workmanship.

Rang AAMI and asked what to do and they were good about it, i said i don't want to lodge anything formal, just wanted to know what they will do if it all goes pear shaped tomorrow.

AAMI are good and they have a lifetime warranty on parts etc (I've been through two radiators which they always replace when they crack (minor front end incident)

Added 2 pics of the guard and bumper.

I forgot before, that when i pointed out what i thought of the job in the first pic, the guy said you can't do much with plastic, i nearly spun a cog!!!!

Hi Zig,

Sorry to hear bout your experience mate. I totally understand where you're coming from though as i had a similar experience with a previous car.
I got mine back, not with dents, but gaps everywhere with spoilers & bonnets. I had to tell them the bonnet wasnt straight when you could easily see there was a 1 mil gap on one side of the bonnet and a 4-5 mil gap on the other side. The front spoiler/bumper didnt match up around the headlights on both sides and drooped down from the bonnet on the left side. On the left side near the headlight you could fit a small screwdriver sideways thru the gaps. I was totally pissed off. I mean this was sposed to be a professional panel shop, rated one of the best in the business and they turn out that kind of work?

The only good things is they let me bring it back and sorted everything out for me in the end, still, you'd expect a better job in the first place.

Hope they do the right thing by you mate.

Good luck

:)

Took the number plate off last night, bar is genuine.

Took the car in this morning apparently it can all be fixed now, even the bit "It's only plastic can't do much with it"

No apologies nothing, when i was finished going through everything that was wrong all they had to say was "anything else?"

Pick up tonight, if it isn't up to scratch i'm just going to take it to AAMI and let the assessor have a look.

Hopefully it won't come to this.

Got the car back today and they fixed everything like it should have been done the first time. No sorry bout that or anything just "550 thanx mate"

****ers still didn't clean the engine bay.

I'll never go there again.

Thanx for all the input. Hardly slept a wink last night, i was still that filthy.

you had to pay $550 for them to fix it up is that what you are saying?if so i would be demanding some reimburesment for the time you had to spend getting there again.glad to hear you have sorted out the problems.

I'm pretty sure the 550$ is going to be his excess.

I would still be putting a complaint in writing to your insurer as they need to know about this sort of behaviour by one of their authorised repairers. These repairers have to meet a certain standard and AAMI will never know there is a problem unless it is in writing.
Glad to hear they fixed the problems in the end but it should never have happened.
