I dare say it will be on a lease, so ask about the lease residual figure - anything higher than that amount and he is just making money out of you.

For an idea of price, go to carsales.com.au and use the used car calculator.

Or, here is one I prepared earlier:-

6sp Automatic Premium Unleaded Multi-point injected 8cyl 6.0 5967cc

Average Private Price+ $43,200 - $47,100
Trade In Price Guide+ $35,600 - $39,500
Average km+ 45000 - 75000
Price When New (RRP)+ $76,990

cheers,

Macca

yer that trade in price is pretty accurate. thats what ill be getting it for in between that $ figure.. is that reasonable?

I'd say the LOWER of the two prices would be more reasonable; it is now three years old and ought to depreciate by around 50-55% in that space of time - scary, but true.

cheers

In one word, No.
Depending on k's you travel in that time, id say late 20's to very low 30's. Car prices dont stay "around the same $" in a year specially during current economic times.

Hey mate, the price on the GTS sounds too high, is this for a stock or have you added any extras? The clubby price sounds reasonable but i recon i've seen GTS's drive away in the mid to high 60's. Remember the new series 2 is coming in 3 weeks, so the price on a VE 1 will only keep dropping. The only big difference between the GTS and Clubby is the Magnetic Ride Control (suspension), 20" wheels and different seats. The new VE 2 GTS will apparently have a few more kw and possibly more cosmetic changes than the new clubby.

Depending on where you are the quotes sound not far off the mark. Here in Perth an R8 will set you back 60k and the GTS 73k.

If you are not in a hurry like LS3 050 suggest hang on for abit. When the new F series hits the dealers they will busting their arse to get the E series off the lot.

GTS price is standard, no extra added.
have been told with the series 2 coming out, alot of the VE 1 clubsports have been snatched up, hence why i might go for a GTS.

definitely wont have the budget for the VEII clubsports as it will be priced around the high 70's.

Who tells you this?? When i was shopping around for my VE clubby, the updated LS3 was due for release in 3 weeks. The first dealer i visited said cause of new engine there will be no discounts on HSV's and i will be paying around $75k.
I walked away from him and ordered one off another dealer for $65K leather seats, roof mounted DVD player and all -drive away with the LS3 engine. If it was me looking right now, id be waiting and looking for deals after the series 2 is released - whether it be on the series 1 or series 2

Looking in todays Cars Guide in Melbourne paper, dealer advertising new GTS around 69K. As i said pays to wait and see. Extra $4k in your pocket now allows for some little extras you may have planned down the track :)

G'day All,

I'm looking at getting a E series Senator.
My questions are about running costs.
does anyone know of a better place for insurance than Shannons (best quote so far).
Also the cheapest place for servicing in eastern Melbourne.

thanks in advance,

Adam

Hi, i am so brandnew here especially in hsv VE,
Now my question is,
i found an e3 HSV GTS 2011 (my12) with 11500km PB in colour, it drives like new and basically the whole car
Presents to be in a new good condition, (tyres are still the original re050 potenza) priced at $58000,
Is this a good price? I Am about to sign a contract last night, but decided to go home first and give it
Another thought to make sure and reassure myself that it i within the acceptable market value?

Seems to be at the top end for that car looking at whatever else is on Carsales.
