Hi all, for those who live in Sydney know the woeful weather we have had for the past few weeks. Well the rain has finally $~|€^>? off making way for clear beautiful cold nights! Perfect weather for Drag racing.
Well the old girls clutch seems to be coming to the end of its life so thought I might send it out with a run down the track. Also interested to see what it will do. I'm taking the family down and if anyone else is going would be great to catch up and meet some forum members.
Cheers,
Moray

Getting ready to leave now, placing bets with the mrs on times, she it trying to g me up, say it will run 13's!
Ha! I say, looking for a mid 12
It will be in full street trim, sub in the boot, spare, exactly how I drive it, it's got about 3/4 tank fuel, going to start with normal tyre pressure, around 38psi
White lie! Any tips?

1st run, 2.0 60ft, hit the limiter in 2nd and let go about 30-40 before the line!
12.9 @ 106mph
.
2nd run 2.2 60ft, shifting @ 6000rpm but bogged on the line. 13.0 @ 116mph

60 foot times expected from your wheels mate, once you chuck on some ET streets watch the ET and 60 footers drop! Great fun though

Having a blast! Tell you what, she is really moving crossing the line, actually talking to a couple of other HSV owners out here, the quickest running a 12.2 in a E3 clubby with exhaust OTR and tune, but he is running semi slick on 18' SS rims, another E3 clubby with cam and the WP2400 S/C is running 13.5, but he is having serious traction issues.

Well more revs off the line didnt work, 2.4 60ft with an ET of 13.3
However was running it to 6500rpm, just hit the limiter again in 2nd but was running 117.5mph!

Its not easy with a manual in a big heavy car on street rubber. With decent rubber you could probably drop half a second with more practice. New clutch would help too if its on the way out.

Actually didnt have any issues with the clutch, no slipping or playing up, it's just grabbing high on the pedal and seems to make the gearbox more notchy then usual, especially when cold. I think I can squeeze a low 12 out of it, in street trim, just got to peg the start right, I'll be heading out there again soon.

Hey fella's, I was thinking of taking the clubby to make its debut at the strip this coming Wednesday 24th.
Its been a good 5 years since I last raced @ WSID and that was in my other car.
Will be racing the R8 in complete street trim, exactly how I drive it everyday, complete with 20 x 10" rears, not expecting any traction :!: but will be good to get an indication of how it performs since having the mods and tune done based on mph.
Anyone keen to join in?

If I can make it, I'll be there, I'll post Tuesday, should have a better idea then. Be interesting to see how you go. I wouldn't mind having another crack at it

No worries mate, hopefully you get to make it, be good to meet a few members.

Helmet sitting on passenger seat, car parked first spot outside the office. :D Going in straight from work. Should be there around 4:30/5:00pm.
Full street trim, spare wheel and all. No fancy rear tyres. Wanna see exactly how it performs (or lack there of) in its exact state as I drive it everyday.

Great night out tonight, lots of HSV's out tonight.
I joined team zero traction tonight, ridiculous wheel spin, even into 3rd.
Best pass of the night was 12.61 @ 116.7mph
Not bad for first time running it, clearly has more in it, the tyres were a massive let down, I knew it would hold me back, but had no idea it would be this bad.
Got pointed at and finger waved at me by the official lol didnt seem to approve of my enthusiastic burnout on the last pass. :p
