In HSV terms, a Grange.
Holdens would extend to statesman and caprice models as well I guess... all the barges :D

Is yours the nice one in the photo?yea i got the mag in the pic, yes they are quiet standard u could put a nice 2.5" or 3" exhaust on it depending on how loud u want it and if u change the intake to an "over the radiator" u will get more induction noise aswell

:Dwhale is big and in this case big is best, just going off the HSV sales chart
don't think that many sell though, but can't have just anyone driving one.

So what is whale model 'grange'? It's kind of like a sophisticated Clubsport?

Thanks Strick, I had a look at your link. It is a beautiful vehicle. My mum has a statesman, so it is starting to click. Holden:Statesman - HSV:Grange! Haven't grasped the whale part yet!

HSV:Grange! Haven't grasped the whale part yet!

Simply put, they are a big car, and anything big spawned the euphonism or term 'as big as a whale' ... therefore we here call Granges .. Whales. And those that drive them ... 'talentless' ... :p :p :p .
Wait for it .. wait for it !!!

Also known as a "land yacht" due to similar turning circles and the floating over roughness.

resale not sure and don't plan to ask the used car sales yard but it would seem to be at times more
than what you can buy them for new so maybe they go up in value 105% after 18 months!
that would be nice.
i do recall my whale doing 13.1 stock, must have been the extra weight over the rear wheels
giving more traction and less smoke and mirrors i mean noise.
in saying that i'm starting to think maybe no more whales if GMH take over and the sales stay so low
well them maybe they will keep going up in value each year, might be a good time to buy another whale
in purple.
hey why so many non whale owners on this thread? and just what has happend to the whale owner stewie c has he left the country?

The Grange is a 'Clark Kent' - mine, apart from the bonnet logo and this is how it came from the factory, (someone has to be close) has no external HSV badge. Very much the wolf in lamb's clothing. Just a diminutive snarl when planted but it can take off.

good point about the badges, or should i say what no chev badge. i know a lot of people look at the grange and have no idea that its a holden usually when i mention grange i get thats a good wine!
