I thought it maybe be of interets, I got a suprise today. A bloke I work with called into work today to sort out his parents car before they went on a road trip. He lives at Burnside, when we popped the bonnet where we were greated by this little fella

He was still alive, just a bit shocked. So we put him in a box to be released back where he came from. Only other weird thing I have had happen was I was moving a old Bentley and it wouldnt start so when I checked the battery in the boot. I opened the boot only to find a cat in there. I dont know who was more startled.

After 4wding and camping for a week in the Atherton tablelands I went to wash the car and came across a bush rat in the engine bay in pretty much the same spot you found the possum Dan. Only difference was that he released himself pretty quickly right towards me and I freaked.

I remember a few months back watching the news when a late model Suzuki swift cleaned up a koala bear and when the owner arrived home to find it stuck behind the grill slightly desheveled but still alive so a quick call to the RSPCA and a shot in the arm,the K.B survived and was released back into the wild..! Bit of a feel good storey..:)

When I was working at subaru I used to find rats nest under the inlet maniflold's, mainly hiding for the warmth but most of them ended being cooked alive after a long road trip.

One time when starting a wood heater with a very tall flue ... there was a scritching sound coming from the flue ... and the fire wouldn't light. A minute later I was looking at the butt of a possum staring at me from behind the wood heater glass door ... it had been overcome by the smoke and landed back in the fire pit....

Don't worry all u greenies ... it survived.

ive found a few things.. found a small amount of weed under backseat of my vp.
i found a mars bar in with the jack in my vx.
and my favourite. i was about to go for a drive. i noticed my neighbours cat looking around my car. looking worried. she had a litter of kittens 3 days before so i thought maube a kitten had gone under, looked under, couldnt see anything. cat was really looking around engine bay. so i popped bonnet. still no sign of it. heard a meow. and found it. in the front bar. behind the mesh. completely out of sight so i grabbed it out. mother kitten was happy to get her kitten back
